My husband and I were both born and raised around this area; I'm from Oceanside and he's from La Costa.
YES, there are people that rummage through the garbage (the dumpsters are in the middle of the parking lots, no real skin off my @ss), but these people are mostly looking for cans and bottles to recycle- I'm sorry if the poorer aspect of the community that seek to supplement their income in this way upset you.
YES the cops are here almost every weekend, but if our neighbors (who are all in the military) didn't insist on having multiple people over to get drunk and start arguing loudly outside my bedroom window while outside smoking, I wouldn't have to call the cops on them to get them to shut up so my family and I could get some sleep.
The management isn't so hot, and these apartments are definitly on "the cusp" of the ghetto (I wouldn't go jogging alone at night), but for this area in Oceanside . . . what do you really expect' I have a few respectful neighbors, but the majority are young, loud, immature marines who don't really seem to care about the other residents' rights.
My major complaint' The immature residents who were expecting a different atmosphere when they moved in. HEY!! YOU'RE IN DOWNTOWN OCEANSIDE!!! Welcome to reality.

This is obviously a simple minded person used to living in the expensive area of Lacosta. Areyou sure you live in Canyon club apartments? As a resident of the complex for over 10 years, yes there have been partys in excess at times, but in recent years it has been not as much. As far as the cops being here evry weekend, again are you sure you live in Canyon Club. True I have seen them time to time but no where near every weekend as you stated. If you hat it here so much why dont you break the lease and go back to Locasta or whereever or are you part of the o the 9% that you are complaing about. Oh and please dont let the gate hit you on the way out of here.

That's so true. If you must live here make sure that you make the managers put everything they tell you on paper and make them sign it. Otherwise the lies they tell will screw you out of money. I was upset at them for a number of reasons, but they actually taught me a valuable lesson to not trust any apt managers ever again. I have learned so much from them that I don't mind wasting all that money.

Well if you live in a 1brdm expect single marines or young couples, and it will probably be louder. If you live in the two bedrooms it will again be marines, but marine families with young children who will want quiet as much as you do. I loved my 1bdrm but my neighbors were occasionally noisy but usually only on Fri. and Sat. nights. My 2bdrm is totally quiet, and I'm surrounded my small families.
