I hardly ever hear my neighbors upstairs, there's always parking, the grounds remain quiet. I love it here. It stays really cool outside and especially inside the apartment. They also have a great pet policy. Be aware of hidden costs of insurance, water and trash that they don't tell you about until you're already signing. They are also the biggestest sq. footage for the money. I've had a 1 bdrm/1 bath and then moved to a 2bdrm/2bath. The community is also quite safe and the grounds are always nice and clean.
Warning: Upon move in walk your actual apartment before moving in. They have regular, semi-upgrades, and full upgrades. Get at least the semi! The old linolium is gross, the new stuff is nice, and only some apts have accent walls so if you liked that in the model make sure the apt you're getting has it. Also, there is no glass in the closet doors like the model has.
Also, without moving to Carlsbad and spending a ton, it won't get much better except having AC. But no place is perfect and instead of complaining, be proactive. It is bright outside for safety and security, so invest in some curtains in the bedrooms if that bothers you. Also, I guess I've been lucky but both my places have been cool and temperate, but they've also been in very shady locations and bottom levels. If the unit gets sun all day it probably won't be as nice.
Also, your deposit is pretty much gone on arrival, don't expect it back. It's the biggest complaint I've heard of in these places. Just be warned.
And hey, if you're an animal lover, the only restrict 3 breeds, Pits, Rotts, and unfortunately Boxers. So, you can bring your 100 lbs. dog with you.

I also live here at Canyon Club and Ive lived in a 1 bedroom downstairs & 2 bedroom upstairs and never had a problem with heat, there are ceiling fans and huge windows dont know what this persons talking about and fyi- ive moved about 25 times in my life and the average move out cost of any apartment is at least $300 for carpet shampooing, maintenance, paint and cleaning so depending on the condition of the apartment when you left it and how long you were there, and how much your deposit was you may pay more but thats typical of any community, theres always 2 sides to the story!! I have several friends that are property managers and there are always 2 sides to a story... cant make everyone happy!! Do some research in other communities and move out costs and then make a judgement! I bet you didnt even pay a high deposit in the first place!! Good Luck
