My husband and I moved in in April of this year. We were told that if a 1 BR with loft opened, all we would have to do is tell them we wanted it, and they'd transfer us to it. There was no mention of it being after our current lease was up. No big deal. Well we got orders to another Duty station and I turned in my 30 day notice like it said to in the contract. I turned it in on Nov. 2 for us to move out on Dec 10th thinking that we wouldn't get charged for the full month. WRONG!!!!!! They decided to tell us that there's a "military addendum" that says your lease won't expire unti 30 days after the next rent is due. Well, no one ever told us anything about it until then and it wasn't in our contract. There are always people digging through the trash... EVEN THE MAINTENANCE WORKERS!!! It's located right in the middle of Gang territory. Everything that can be "tagged" is tagged. it's absurd. They actually had the audacity to send out a memo stating that they were going to install security cameras to watch for people who aren't picking up their dog's waste!!! What about just for the general well-being and safety of your tenants'''' They have a dog run... but it's full of dog feces. No one ever cleans it. But they say it's our responsibility to clean up after our dog, but I still think they should keep it clean if they see no one is cleaning up after their pet. The people in the office, although they are nice to you, they are sneaky. This place is a rip-off. it's a 600 and something sq. ft. apt and they charge $1200 a month... and that's even with our 3% military discount! people are constantly stealing other people's clothes right out of the laundry rooms. I was doing laundry one day and when I went to put my clothes into the dryer, someone had put their towels in with my clothes!!! people don't care! they just take advantage of people and they're out for them. I really wouldn't recommend this place to anyone... especially military. Yeah, it's close to base, but it's completely worth it to drive a bit further to base every day than to live here. The lady above us always stomps around and it's loud. especially when we're trying to sleep.

*UPDATE!* OUR TRUCK WAS BROKEN INTO LAST NIGHT ALONG WITH LIKE 6 OR 7 OTHER CARS. THEY TALK ABOUT 24 HOUR SECURITY PATROLLING THE AREA... F*CK THAT! THERE'S NO SUCH SECURITY. I'LL BE IN THE OFFICE AT 9 AM WHEN THEY OPEN THEIR DOOR! I WANT MY RENT BACK, OR I WANT THEM TO PAY FOR OUR WINDOW TO BE FIXED. AT LEAST $250 BETTER BE IN MY HAD WHEN I WALK OUT OF THERE! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW BAD THIS PLACE IS!!! RUN FAR AWAY. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!! AS A MATTER OF FACT, MAKE SURE WHERE EVER YOU LIVE HAS SECURITY CAMERAS AND A GATED COMMUNITY WITH PASSCODE ENTRANCE ONLY!!! F*CK CANYON CLUB, JUST IN CASE I DIDN'T MAKE MYSELF CLEAR THE FIRST FEW TIMES!!!

Intresting you say these things. I live here as well and find it a very enjoyable place to live. As far as the rent/move out problem you had...you can look that military addendum up ANYWHERE. Me and my husband did that and had NO problem whatsoever. The law states exactly what you wrote there if you had just looked it up ahead of time. And as far as the laundry goes, I have never had my clothes stolen...even though I have left my clothing overnight on accident. If you are really concerned about your clothing why don't you just sit down there with it like most people...it is a laundromat so you have to expect people will do whatever it takes to get their clothes washed and dried for as little money as possible. My car DID get broken into when I first moved in and that really scared me but I just don't leave my stereo in my car and I'm all good. It's not the apartment's fault that people come onto the premesis at night and break into YOUR car.

I never said that they did anything wrong by charging us a full month's rent due to the military addendum. I did however find it annoying that they didn't tell us about it when we first moved in. I had never heard of such a thing, and I just felt that it would make more sense for them to put it in the lease. They put everything else in there to cover their asses, so why not that? I find it stupid that they would want to put up cameras to ensure people are cleaning up after their animals, yet not for the general well-being of their tennants... some of which are actually their employees. When I asked them about it they said that by law they couldn't, but then they said that their corporate wouldn't allow it. So, they're very wishy-washy. We usually don't leave our valuables in our truck... it just happened that one time.... and wouldn't you know that someone broke in. Fine, we accept responsibility for that. I am annoyed that the security that's supposed to patrol the premesis was usually seen sleeping or sitting around doing nothing. But I don't care anymore because I don't live there anymore. I'm glad you find it pleasurable, it just wasn't my cup of tea... and I found it poorly managed.
