I don't think that It's entirely the management's fault but they honestly go on here to up their ratings. The only people who will ever go on this site are:

1) Those who rent there/lived there and are unhappy
2) Those who are looking for an apartment and need to read reviews to narrow their choices.
3) Management defending the property

I can almost guaruntee you that happy tenants wouldn't go online to write reviews or defend the apartments non-stop. It seems like every time a bad review post, almost an immediate reply goes up in defense. It is an entirely dead giveaway to the management's doings.

Seriously though, if there are nearly 43 reviews of this place and a 23% recommendation rating, that means only about 10 out of about close to 45 people approve of the place.

That really should tell you something about these apartments. But honestly, if you are looking for somewhere to live, I do not recommend the Island Clubs. Mainly for the noise (coming from really young people who have like 2 other roommates who party all the time) and the EXTREMELY frequent breakins.

Aimco (not the office personnell) should honestly come on this web page and read the nearly 50 reviews and take them seriously. These apartments are very nice but the quality of living is not.

I read a review on here about suggesting that this place should have gates. I think that would help greatly. And it wouldn't be that expensive. I also read some about security guards I think. Well I've been out at night and I saw that the security guard only sits in his car near the pool and watches people swim and makes sure they get out. He then walks to the laundry room, wiggle the door handles and thats it. (So, management: you're giving them free money).

If they work on these things, it would be so much better. I'm not going to speak badly about the office personnel because they only have so much control. It's basically out of their hands since they can only relay the messages.

And to the office staff: You know what's going on here, you do. You know about all the complaints coming in and the legibility of these posts. But You may be told by your manager to check the ratings and defend the apartments (and you should defend these apartments since it is your job) but using such provocative language in a post as soon as it is posted (since you get an update that a post has been posted in your email box) is a major giveaway that you're posing as tenents.

These ratings and reviews speak for itself.

Hi luckicharmz; I resided in the Island Club Community for a year. Over all I was unpleased, and it is hard to narrow it down or point a finger. It seemed as if there was structure to management at the time I moved in. When Jill took on the responsibility I surely saw a difference; however that was towards the end of my time there. You mentioned the apartments as being modern; if in reference to an upgraded model, then you???re absolutely right. Otherwise the apartments are sub-standard and deficient in square footage. Management has no control over the hooligans which vandalize and steal within the community (unfortunately some are tenants), I???m sure if they were to be identified management would deal with them swiftly. On top of crime, my other issue consisted of the utilities being interrupted without notice on more than three occasions; on each I immediately contacted management, who were uninformed by their maintenance staff of work being performed. Then there was the issue of the exterior painting which led to notices advising the tenants to move their furniture off the balconies. I complied with the dates however painting was never performed. I took the extra steps to advise management and maintain my items within my apartment for another week; painters never came. Come a month later, I receive a phone call while at work to come move my items from the balcony or be charged a fee. Of course I referenced the dated notice, and my prior phone call, the issue was eventually remedied. There were just far too many random issues. Being that you have lived there for ten years you are used to a particular way of life. The rent is far too high for such sub-standard real-estate. I am currently renting an entire beautiful house on a golf course for LESS than what I paid in rent at Island Club. Surely you are within your right to defend your community, however, please do not do like Island Club and apply paint to a surface in a futile attempt to masquerade what is truly there.
