My husband is a marine and he is being discharged.
they say that they respect the soldiers and sailors act which clearly isn't true.
we went in and gave them his orders THE DAY WE GOT THEM, but because we had to give them a 30 days notice, they want us to pay another month when nobody will be occupying the apartment. The soldiers and sailors act clearly states that our lease is up as soon as he has his orders. Also, I have never lived in a noisier apartment in my life! I wake up to music blasting in the middle of the night, people fighting constantly, drunken screaming, etc. the "heated pool" NEVER works, the hot tubs are dirty and my a/c only runs when it wants to. i would NEVER recommend these apartments.

That's funny. I have lived at Island Club apartments for about two years off and on (depending on my husbands deployments) and the soldiers and sailors act clearly states that, when orders are give you are required to give a 30 CALENDAR DAY notice...that is for every apartment. Sound like you are an immature, spoiled brat who is throwing a fit because you didn't get what you wanted.

You stated you were being discharged, your an idiot the Soilder and Sailors act doesn't protect you against something that you have known about for at least four years, it is only if you get "deployed" why should a business release from a contract that you commited to when you know you shouldn't have? Use your brain next time.

The Soldiers and Sailors act specifically states that you must give a 30 day notice on the first of the next rental payment period. Duh, that means 30 days from the first of the following month. You are a discrimination to the soldiers and a bad representation of what they stand for. They do not stand for "we get everything we want because we signed up for the military voluntarily"!!! So the next time you want to cry because you feel you were wronged, check with the law. It is the LAW not the rules of the apt community! Oh and just because you got into a contrcat marriage to reep the benefits does not give you the right to screem about nonscence.
