Island club is the worst apartments I have ever lived in the only reason why I am still there is because they want to charge us a large amount of money to break our lease even after we been broken into twice. This last time we got broken into May of 2008. The burglars broke into our apartment by removing the whole window frame since the screws are on the outside, I went to management and they didn t do anything about it but give us a little wooden stick to put in our window..... WTF.... what is that going to do' They took the whole frame offfffff. The maintenance workers enter our apartment whenever they want even after I told management I want to be home when anyone needs to enter. One time we were actually home on a weekday and one of the maintenance guys opened our door and saw we were home and walked away. I called management immediately and they told me that their just checking the locks. Another instance we were at home on a Saturday and our water turned off, we never got a notice letting us no and once again I called management and they told me that it would only be for ten minutes . I don t care if it was for five minutes we should be notified. Instead of replacing all the window frames for more security they rather repaint the apartments for what. And last but not least yes I am in the military and I was away training during so I called to pay my rent over the phone and I believe her name was melissa(southern accent) told me she is not going to stop what she is doing for me. I didn't know what to do. I am still in shock of that. I feel I am a good renter I have never paid my rent late I don t make too much noise I am really only home to sleep. I've already contacted AIMCO about the Island club management and apartments and they have not done anything about it.

WELL FIRST OF ALL LET ME SAY MY NAME IS MELISA THE PERSON ABOVE THAT WAS SPOKEN ABOUT WITH THE SOUTHERN ACCENT AND I DID USE TO WORK AT THE ISLAND CLUB WHERE I DO LIVE!!! I WILL DEFEND MYSELF AND SAY I HAVE NEVER BEEN RUDE NOR NEGATIVE TOWARDS ANYONE ON THE PHONE ABOUT PAYING RENT! I MIGHT HAVE SAID TO THE PERSON I WAS BUSY WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND HE WOULD HAVE TO CALL BACK---CONSIDERING WE YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO COME IN TO THE OFFICE TO PAY RENT OR PAY ON LINE!! SO THAT GOES TO SHOW THAT THE FRONT OFFICE DOES GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP PEOPLE OUT! I HAVE KNOWN OF A COUPLE OF BREAK INS BUT YOU KNOW THE TRUTH IS-----IF SOMEONE WANTS IN YOUR HOUSE OR APARTMENT---THEY ARE GOING TO GET IN!!! IT IS NOT MAINTIENCE RESPONSIBLE TO GUARD YOUR APARTMENT! ABOUT THEM COMING IN YOUR APARTMENT!!! WELL IF YOU WILL READ YOUR LEASE, MANAGMENT HAS A RIGHT TO GO INTO YOUR HOME AT ANYTIME! MOST OF THE TIME PEOPLE THAT BLOW UP AND REFUSE THEM ARE THE PEOPLE WHO HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE!!! THEY ARE VERY TRUST WORTHY AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING COMING UP STOLEN OR ANY COMPLAINTS! AND AS FOR AS THE WATER??? IF SOMEONE IS ABOVE YOU AND HAS A LEAK a)DO YOU WANT MAINTENANCE TO GO IN RIGHT THEN AND FIX THE PROBLEM OR b)WAIT TILL YOU GET HOME AND HAVE YOUR WHOLE APARTMENT FLOODED----USE COMMON SENSE!!!!I THINK THE MANAGMENT IS GREAT! I WORKED WITH THE OFFICE STAFF WHICH IS A GREAT TEAM! I THINK THEY ARE FAIR AND TREATS EVERY PERSON THE SAME!OF COURSE THEY CANT PLEASE EVERYONE---BUT THEY TRY VERY HARD TO MAKE ALL THE TENANTS FEEL AT HOME!PEOPLE THAT DONT LIKE MANAGMENT ENTERING THEIR HOME OR PEOPLE THAT THINKS THEY SHOULD GET SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDS TO BUY THEIR ON HOME! I HAVE LIVE HERE 1 YEAR AND I AM A MILITARY WIFE! I CAN HONESTLY SAY THIS IS THE BEST APARTMENTS IN OCEANSIDE THAT YOU WILL FIND! I AM FROM MS AND I LOOKED AND WEIGHED OUT ALL MY OPTIONS---YOU CANT BEAT IT!!!

HA! This Melisa chick is a freaking retard...So, management or maintenance can come into my apartment without permission, and hang out, eat my food, throw a party???? Are you kidding me? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. They are always supposed to ask first if it is OK to come in without you being home, and if you say no, they cant come in. Period. I agree with the person that posted this. I lived there a couple of years ago, and it is nothing but a trash dump. I never had any burglaries, except for the time a maintenace guy went into my apartment while I was in the process of moving out and stole some stuff, even the food in my fridge! Stupid beaners, always have to steal...also, a neighbor of mine ended up breaking into the mailbox, stealing my wife's checks, and using her info to make fake ones, which he then used to spend all over town. I have never lived in a place that was this bad, and I used to live in Costa Mesa, which is almost like living in Mexico. The people that defend Island Club are usually military, because it is close to Pendleton and they get nice discounts. Island Club sucks, don't live there!

During my year there I must agree this apartment community is substandard compared to the others I have rented from. The office staff with the exception of a couple of people are completely incompetent. Jill Scott (if she is still managing there) was one of the few staff members that had tact when dealing with others. Yes landlords can come in to the premise whenever they wish if they feel something is not right. But there needs to be cause (similar to getting pulled over for a damaged taillight when the cop really thinks something else is up), otherwise they have to give notice. Varies by lease and that???s why it is critical you read over that document. I have had the water shut off on me on several occasions and it was nothing of an emergency, just replacing kitchen/bathroom appliances. NO WARNING GIVEN. As for Melissa; yes you can beat it...I now live in a wonderful house on a golf course and pay under a thousand a month utilities included: Two car garage, tennis courts, pool, you name it. Island Club needs a little bit more than just some paint on the exterior. Taking off the caps when you type, proper ethics. Buccieri182; I am a Marine and have never defended this apartment community, nor has any of my fellow Marines who have lived here...when made mention of living at island club at the time...the responses were all the same..."that place is a poop-hole!" For some people that have lived in worst places, this might seem like luxury. However if you do some shopping around there is much better.
