Worst apartments I'ver ever seen
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/10/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
These apartments are the worst.
Safety:
I never felt safe there with the neighborhood. There were a bunch of homeless druggies right down the street at the "Bread of Life".
Mail:
I don't know how many times I almost accidentally threw away my legit mail, there was so much junk mail shoved into my mailbox. When I went home for Christmas, my mailbox was so stuffed with all the ads and junk, that my real mail was all winkled and smashed in the back. The junk mail was so bad, they even had a paper recycling bin right next to the mailbox. (at least they recycled'')
Apartment:
The windows were so cheap, they didn't secure and when my upstairs neighbors simply walked around, they rattled like crazy. I even had a hole in my window from a bb gun! I'm lucky to not have experienced the mold, but the paint was the cheap base paint that would rub off when you tried to clean the walls. The kitchen cabinets were nasty, they smelled horrible and most of the doors didn't even close all the way. There was a space in between the cabinets and the ceiling. The countertop behind the stove would lift off if any weight was applied whatsoever. The carpet had all sorts of hard spots in them, who knows what they were. The entire apartment stank horribly when we first moved in, it took forever to get rid of the smell.
Parking:
It was ok, I never really had a problem parking in a covered spot, I've seen WAY worse.
Facilities:
The laundry room sucked, they raised the prices on it about a month after I had been there. Way too expensive. It was never warm enough to use the pool while I lived there, so no imput on that.
Management:
I was very angered when the time came to move out. My boyfriend was deploying and he came in to give a 30 day notice to move out, which had been discussed even before the lease was signed. The management knew about it ahead of time and tried to claim that I couldn't get out of the lease and would have to stay. They obviously need to brush up on their legal knowledge with the Military Relief Clause. I would have taken them to court had they tried to charge me for breaking the lease. You don't want to mess with Navy JAG officers.
Overall I'm just glad that my car didn't get broken into and that I didn't have a probelem with the mold. It seems that nothing has been updated and the management just raises their prices every year without upgrading the apartments. This is still the worst place ever. Do not move here, run away!
