I got little over $80 out of $450 security deposit, I lived in this apartment for 3 years and charged me $170 for cleaning carpet which had two little stains on it, besides cleaning and other charges for the apartment itself, even though i spent so much time cleaning with cold waterbefore moving out, as there was no hot running water due to electricity problem.
I would not recommend this apartment to anybody who is looking for a decent place
to live.
The management and staff are so poor in handling maintenance issues.
During last few weeks of my tenancy, the apartment had electricity problem..no power in living room and kitchen. All major appliances including cooking range, refrigerator, water heater, AC didn' function and we lost power everyday and had to survive just by living in the bedroom with my one year old baby.
The management lost so many tenants because of rent increases and i see "Now leasing" board all the time now.

We lived at Madison hills for many years. When pam was the manager things were nice but as soon as Jennifer(power trip queen) came in the place went down hill. Nothing got done at all. Nothing but rent increases. If you don't pay they will kick you out even if you with hold because you do not have heat or electricity which is the law to be running properly. My advice is to call Fair Housing. They will get involved and help any resident who has a problem. They do not care who Jennifer is.

I agree. Call Fair Housing. The management company wants to keep as much of your deposit as possible so that the owner makes more money. They may have a company come in and do touch up paint, and they decide how much of that they want to charge you. If it cost $200 for touch up paint, they will charge you almost the entire thing - even though it didn't need the touch up paint in the first place. By charging you for the paint, their building gets maintained by the tenant instead of the owner. It worked this was when I was a manager there. I constantly was reprimanded for not charging enough against the tenants deposits. I had a hard time following their orders because I felt it was unjust to the person moving out. But, hey, its a business and the owner only cares about his pocketbook. He didn't care at ALL that there were documented drug dealers living there and putting other tenants at risk. He didn't want me to do anything about it because he didn't want any publicity that might discourage new tenants.
