I moved there in 1978 to apt. 113 on the cool side of the building. No problems at all and I loved the quiet and long living room. In 1981 I moved up to a two bedroom unit on the sunny side of the building to apt. 312. It was cheerier, and had a view of the pool. The place was called the Galantine Apartments then and old Mr. Galantine lived in the house next door (behind the pool). He had built the building in 1964 and still owned the property. The present parking lot in front was not there - and instead it was a beautiful lawn with trees. Your guests parked on the other side of the building in a parking lot. The garage was not gated then. My rent was $239. for the one bedroom and then $325 for the two bedroom unit. I loved the patios and pool. Alta Mesa Cemetery is across the street and made a perfect *park* to walk or run in. I loved the old trees - some as old as 1904. There was a one year waiting list to get into the building when I first went there - but it was well worth it!
