I've been here for over 3 years. I just got married to a guy who drives a car, which you guessed it, he needs a second spot. "Waiting list" is what I heard. It took about 3 months for a second spot to surface. During that time, it was "sorry honey, you have to park in the lot next door. My good hubby never complained and always let me use the spot xoxoxox!
I've seen a lot of things happen here. I've seen move-ins, move-outs, good people, bad people, quiet people, loud people and anything else you can think of. I think all in all you have to expect the things you would expect in any apartment complex. The only things different are the methods and actions the management makes through good and bad times.
The team in there now has been here a lot longer than I have. They know me by name and they even sent me a card when I got married to congradulate us. It was thoughtful and it was something that that you don't really expect from a management company/manager.
When I first moved in the apartment was spotless. It was as if it was brand new even though the apartments are older. I could've had surgery in this room!
I have a few maintenance issues but for the most part they were taken care of quickly and effectively. They were both nice but Alberto has always been my favorite. He's always so nice. Carlos is the groundskeeper. He is nice and he knows everyone. It's amazing that the place looks so nice because everytime I see him, he's not working, he's talking with residents laughing it up and joking (I hope John doesn't read this!).
The lady in the office is Jahida. She is the sweetest thing ever. I thought she was gone until I found out she had a baby. I cannot wait for her to come back. They've had various people in the office since she's been gone and to be honest I don't like any one of them. My advice is that if Jahida is not there when you move-in, ask for John. He is the manager of the place and he knows his thing. I had a little issue with one of the temps and when I talked with him about it, I got the feeling that he cared and that it was handled for MY benefit. John has always been very nice to me. He sent me a rent increase and at first I was not very happy. It was a modest $60 increase but he explained that I was already so far under market because of the time I moved in, that even with the increase I'd still be under what the current market was. I found out through a new tenant that he was in fact telling me the truth. The prices went way up in the last 2 years. I actually had a huge drush on John when I moved in and I'll be honest, he was part of the reason I moved there. I was heart broken when I found out he was married!!:(

So, the complex is cool. Lots of greenery and interesting plants. I'm not really into plants but if you are, this place has some nice ones here. The place is kept nice and clean but every once in a while the trash beens are gross. The recycling beens are always full and borderline disgusting.
Alma is pretty busy most of the time but the trains are more annoying than Alma is.
Anyways, I give this place a thumbs up! We'll have leave after our lease is up this year but if we ever get the chance to come back to Palo Alto, we'll stop here first.
