Absolute horrible experience!!!! Terrible management and maintenance
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 10/8/2003
Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I lived in these apartments for one year. The units are very, very expensive; although that's what you should expect for an apartment in this part of town. But we are talking about $2000 a month for an apartment...that's a condo payment!
I never lost my deposit or was charged a late fee, so I am not bitter, but I honestly cannot say I have lived in a complex where I was treated with such disdain (especially for the price I was paying).
My biggest problem was with the management and the maintenance. They are absolutely the worst set of "individuals" (rather than what I should call them) I have ever met. They are rude, condescending, and will lie directly to your face about obvious things that you know aren't true.
For example: If you happen to need anything fixed or have bugs (ants and HUGE spiders are a big problem) they will tell you first that someone just came out. Then, if you still insist, they will say they will send someone over to fumigate.
I covered all my furniture for three days waiting for the pest control guy to come. The first two days they told me that he would be there tomorrow, that he got "hung up".
On the third day, they told me that he had come that afternoon. When I got to my apartment, there was no note on the door saying that he had entered, PLUS I had the same ant and spider problem; they never sent anyone out.
If something breaks in the unit, the ?maintenance guy? who wants to be Magnum PI, will come over with a can of whatever and do the shoddiest and fastest patch job he can, then leave faster than he came.
The parking garage is absolutely filthy, with dirt a two inches high. The access gates are always broken, and two of my neighbors had their cars broken into when they gates were left open, rather than fixing them. I swear the laundry machines have never been cleaned since they were installed. And they have the crappiest-looking fake cameras in the garage.
As for the apartment, the carpet in my unit hadn?t been cleaned since the Carter Administration, and the walls are pretty thin.
The units allow small dogs, mostly little shitzu-type that will bark all day and night long and keep you awake.
I will say that it is in a nice area, you can walk to the mall (just bring mace and watch your purse now that the gang-banger set has invaded the place) and the apartment was roomy.
I guess my biggest problem was with the management. It is beyond me how such rude and malicious people wind up in charge of the day to day operations of a complex that obviously outclasses then by a long shot.
Oh well, I?m just glad to be gone. I now have a beautiful little bungalow a few blocks away, and if you ask me these things are the little treasures to find in Pasadena.
One last thing ? BE WARNED, NONE OF THE UNITS HAVE REFRIGERATORS!!!!!!!!
If you?re lucky, someone will sell you theirs as they?re moving out (when I moved, I was so happy, I would have given it away!)
