As I sit in my classroom while my students are at lunch I almost slap myself for being drawn into this sight once again to see what the next person writes. I should be grading papers yet I am somehow brought back here to read only that MY REVIEW IS NOT REAL' Excuse me, I am real. I am not a PR person or whatever the previous person assumed I was. I live here and have for quite some time. When I renew my lease it is becuase I like it here. Tell me, why do you renew YOUR lease if you hate it so much' Leave if you don't like it! And, about my husband being a firefighter ... he IS a firefighter and YES he does live here. Who are you to tell me I am not real' My husband works in Ventura County and if you knew anything about firefighting you would know that 90% of their calls are for false alarms and such. It's part of their job, they do it to keep us safe. In my years at Fountain Park I have only seen the fire department here a few times. I'm sure they have been out here many more times than that, I just didn't see them. With 700 units there are bound to be a few false alarms here and there.

What's next' Are you going to tell me I don't really have a daughter or something' Please respect my review. I wrote it to help others, not to be discounted by you. Thanks.

I have been living here for 2 years with my husband and our three year old daughter. My husband is a firefighter and I am a school teacher. We can barely afford the rent here but it is a great buy for the money. The amenities are ourstanding. Where else in the west side of Los Angeles can you find a complex like this under $2000/month' This place has multiple swimming pools, a weight room, a cardiovascular room, a business room, a clubhouse, beautiful palm trees, etc. etc. Also, we all have access to the CentrePointe Club which is just

across Jefferson in the other side of Playa Vista. They have a big pool, screening room, gym, game room, ballroom, and a kiddie pool which our daughter loves.

The reviews on this site seem biased to me. I came across this site today while looking around for an apartment for my friend who is moving to San Diego ... boy was I shocked! It's like there is some online riot going on here! I think the harsh reviews are beyond outrageous.

Some of the comments I find quite funny are things like the choking on fumes in the parking garage. Well, it's not like the parking garage is dangerous. Of course, you shouldn't spend most of your time in there because, like all parking garages, there ARE in fact fumes from cars. Didn't anyone ever teach you to not to play around in parking garages' Park your car and get out and there shouldn't be any problem

About these gases that are supposedly seeping up through the surface, etc. etc. - I'm with the other reviewer, the whole city of L.A. is sitting on Methane gases. In addition, methane gas is a light gas so it rises. If we were sitting on top of a dense gas like propane then we should be terrified. I'm not worried about the Methane gas level. We have the buildings inspected monthly and there are sensors/alarms everywhere.

Another review I find silly and quite offensive is the whole argument that we are all living among people who are scum. This is ridiculous! We are living in the city of LOS ANGELES, quite possibly one of the most diverse places in the world. Fountain Park houses a diverse group of people, very representative of the city we live in. I have read people making racial and absurd comments all over this site. From, "those black kids" to "those college students" to "their ebonics they don't even know how to speak", etc. etc. etc.

My husband is ------- American, I am Hispanic (and a college student as well, nights at LMU for my doctorate), and our adopted daugter is Japanese. We haven't caused drama here and neither have my neighbors. So please don't direct your comments towards a race or certain demographic. Most of these disturbances are probably because of a small group of people. And lets do the math, with 700 units there are bound to be a few bad eggs, lets just deal with it! This isn't a perfect world.

OK let me get back to the pros and cons of living here (from someone who has actually lived here 2 years):

Pros:
-beautiful grounds
-ample parking for tennants AND guests
-gorgeous appliances
-washer/dryer in unit
-diswasher
-balcony or patio
-superb maintenance
-roomy units
-amenities too many to list
-on site management to deal with your every need when you need it!

Cons:
-can get noisy sometimes
-the pool gets crowded in summer but there are 3 so we just go to the community center
-packages left in front of your door may disappear. it's best to have them sent to the leasing office
-internet is a bit wacko but only goes out for about a minute or two at a time

Overall this place is great and a good deal for the money. You can't really say this place is a ripoff. Look around and what you get for under $2000 in Los Angeles ... this is at the top of its class!

About the whole "cathy" thing, I really don't know her or the situation so I can't offer any factual comments on it but what I can give is my opinion and it sounds to me like this is a big case of revenge! there's always something like that at every big complex. somebody has a bad day and tries to ruin it for everyone.

Oh and my daughter wants to add ... "i like the potlucks!" she means the resident breakfasts every two weeks. They get us all together and serve us a complimentary breakfast so we can meet other residents. it's nice and fun.

I have trouble believing you are a real resident, too. I've not met anyone who actually lives here who would advertise the way you clearly are. I've not met one person who didn't complain about the grounds, maintenance, or noise--even people who like it here overall. You sound like a commercial and I don't even buy that you are really a teacher. What school district do you work for? What grade do you teach? What type of papers were you grading? Teachers get very short lunch periods. Do you really expect us to believe that you wrote all this in the few minutes without kids demanding your attention? Please.
