When I moved in, the place was clean and well maintained. The property was managed by a local and professional apartment management company and we had an on-site manager and maintenance person. Then the owner decided to manage the property himself. He lives in SF and has other buildings in SF and Oakland, so it is not convenient for him or his staff to visit. Maintenance requests can and do take months. We have gone through approximately 10 on-site managers since the owner took over. We finally got a great one about a year ago who has gone out of her way to clean up and maintain the property and keep out problem tenants. They just let her go. The upgrades they are doing to the apartments are nice cosmetically, but they are not enough. There needs to be some sort of sound insulation between the apartments, especially between floors. Most of the windows are not glass but plastic, which does not insulate any sounds coming from the courtyard or from the busy street the apartment sits on. I would not move in here if I was looking again.
