I moved in this summer, and I am impressed. It's an economical place and will do great while I wait for my condo to sell. The manager has gone to great length to improve the place. It's completely repainted and looks very nice. They are putting new cabinets and countertops in the units. They're not big apartments, but it has a nice pool and meets my need very nicely.

Just keep your fingers crossed that you won't ever need something fixed.

Not recommended. Look elsewhere. I've lived here for over 5 years and all of the changes are cosmetic only. They are not fixing the underlying major problems, i.e.: roof leaks; major plumbing problems; drug issues; noise problems - especially with the new 'all breeds accepted' policy; security and lighting - there has been an increase in theft and car break-ins and the property lighting is lax, if present at all; a lot of the 'improvements' were not done with permits, resulting in huge fines by the city and a long work shutdown. Most of the work is not done by licenced plumbers, electricians, etc. and it shows. Because they have not installed proper shut-off valves, water must be shut off to the entire building at least once a month for any minor maintenance to a single unit. They raised the rents over a year ago _prior_ to doing any improvements and have been doing work very slowly and loudly ever since. Usually you raise the rent after the work has been done, and only for those whose units have been remodelled, but not here. Long-term tenants rents were raised (even though their units were not going to be remodeled) and even after the economy caused the new rental unit's rents to be lowered, long-term renter's are still paying the higher rent. Nice to know that Tuscany and SFrent really support their long-term renters! No wonder average tenancy is now less than 1 year.
