Truth in lending'

I was shown one apartment, and told to apply if I wanted it. I did, specifically for that apartment, then was told another had gotten it. Gee - they never told me I was competing for it - they told me I could have it if I applied in a timely fashion (which I did the same day)! Then they tried to get me to view one directly on a parking lot with trucks & motorcycles. When I didn't want it, they then tried to give me another, but told me I couldn't view it because the current tenant hadn't moved out. At this point, I simply canceled my application. If they can't be truthful regarding which apartment I'm really going to get when I apply to a specific apartment, then I have serious doubts regarding whether or not they can be truthful about matters that are even more important.

Viking Park Apartments is a desirable complex with modest rents. Therefore, it often has a waiting list of prospective tenants for apartments. It never advertises specific apartments for rent, since by the time a prospective tenant contacts the management based on advertising, a specific apartment may already be rented. Contrary to what the reviewer states, the reality of this policy may be verified by viewing ads for the complex on Craigslist.org.
Prospective tenants may fill out application forms, and then a prospective tenant is contacted if an apartment becomes available.
As a courtesy to prospective tenants, management does show vacant apartments as examples of the units that may be available in the future. They never tell people that they may rent a specific apartment if they apply right away, because there is a backlog of applications, from which qualified applicants are accepted in order of when they were submitted. It obviously takes time to run credit and reference checks on prospective tenants. The writer may not understand the normal process for renting apartments. An apartment would never be rented immediately to someone who responded to an ad.
This person is obviously annoyed that he did not receive immediate approval to rent an apartment that he liked - which likely had already been rented to someone else but had not yet been occupied, so was available for him to view. Perhaps he expected to be rented an apartment without a credit check, or was angry that one to his liking was not available at the time he wanted it.
Blaming that on the management of this complex seems rather inappropriate.
