Noise, noise, and more noise

I strongly agree with the other comments posted here recently about VM. I ve been living here for about 4 months now, and I m counting the days until my lease runs out (sadly, there s quite a few days left). As mentioned in a prior review, the only reason to live here is the proximity to the BART station. Aside from that, it s all negative. For me, the noise is the number 1 detractor. While the building itself is new and fairly attractive on the outside, they obviously skimped on the construction because the walls are ridiculously thin. To put it another way, unless you re living on the top floor, plan to hear every footstep from the tenant above you. Seriously. And if the tenant above you has kids, forget about it. You might as well take whatever rent concession they give you and invest in a good pair of noise canceling headphones. As I m writing this now (past midnight), I m enjoying some nice techno music, or what s left of it after it s passed through these sorry excuses for walls. Other detractions I m facing Coggins Drive, which while not terribly noisy, does take some getting used to at night, unless you enjoy falling asleep to the sound of traffic. Oh, and learn to like the smell of bbq (even at 9 in the morning). Or always keep your windows closed and the AC on. Your call. If none of this bothers you, and BART proximity is important, then go for it. Heck, you can have my place. Headphones not included.
