Bad outweighs the good

First off, they used to be called "luxury condos," now they are "apartment homes" They downgraded their class, but not their prices.

(The good)
No downstairs neighbor. Open balcony view, not facing another balcony or a tree. Fairly quiet. Nice grounds to walk through on a sunny day. Close to mall, freeway, downtown. "Cheater parking." Closed garage, not just covered parking. Car wash areas.
Maintenance staff, cordial and courteous.

(The bad)
Office staff, not so much, once you are signed. But they get replaced faster than at a fast food joint, so experience may vary.

Airconditioning is worthless. We had to go to the mall on some summer weekdays after work, because it was so hot indoors. This, after they replaced the whole thing in the closet.

Bathroom flooded, dripped down in the garage, and we were told to "vacuum the carpet and put a fan to dry it out." "Nothin' we can do 'bout it."

Old water stains on the garage ceiling and walls.

Cars are double-parked, parked sideways across garage doors, along red-zones and next to fire hydrants. Towing' What towing'

No security staff. We actually saw a police cruiser that sped along Twinbridge as if chasing another car, at around midnight. Twice in one week. Saw a 2nd floor window busted open with the screen still hanging. Read notice at the mailbox about a car and garage broken into.

Raccoons. Someone was actually attacked.

Old appliances/cabinetry.

After 2.5 years, plus however many years the previous tenant lived there, we were charged with "carpet cleaning." I'm guessing it's 5 years old, and it is still not considered normal wear-and-tear. We got $25 back from our deposit.

Oh, and they are increasing our rent by 150 freaking dollars. One hundred and fifty, per month.

This post could not be more true..seriously, this person hit the nail on the head about this place

It's true, they do have really bad rent increases, they have no loyalty to permanent (or would be) residence. Their main concern is moving them in and out. WE have waited for 3 years to have our rain gutters fixed. When it rains there is a waterfall above my door. And the squirrels live in the walls.

THIS IS SOOO TRUE WHEN I READ IT I THOUGHT I WAS READING MY STORY. AS WELL WE GOT DINGED FOR CARPET THAT WE LIVED IN FOR 5 YEARS. AND AS FOR THE STAFF THEY DO GO THROUGH THEM FAST. THE WATER HEATER FLOODED IN THE GARAGE AND IT DAMAGED SOME THINGS IN THE GARAGE AND THEY TOLD US THAT THE GARAGE WS NOT FOR STORING ITEM IT WAS ONLY FOR YOUR CAR. NOW YOU TELL ME WHO ONLY PUTS THERE CAR IN THE GARAGE. THIS PLACE WAS NICE WHEN MY HUSBAND & I MOVED IN 5 YEARS AGO BUT WE WERE SO HAPPY WHEN WE GOT A TRANSFER TO THE EAST COAST..!!!

Wow, I thought I was the only one with water damage in the garage from the unit above it. Was also told that I shouldn't be storing things in the garage and I thought, "are you kidding, have you LOOKED in most people's garages here?!?" I foolishly renewed my lease, also at a $150/month increase, but am not too happy to hear that I'll be dinged with carpet replacement and painting when I move out. I did receive new (although VERY cheap) carpet when I moved in, but the walls weren't painted. The place reaked of cigarette smoke which I'm assuming a fresh coat of paint might have masked better. I have never in my life had to make so many service calls to get things fixed, and often times it's not fixed on their first attempt and takes numerous times to finally be resolved.

I would say more but eveyone above pretty much said it all, especailly about the get you out quick thing. if you are just one day late on your rent, up goes the 3 day pay or quit notice on your door so every one can see. Most places will give you a 5 day grace period. yeh theirs is 4, I was a good tenant, paid my rent on time every month untill once when my sister passed away, they made me feel like i was a harden criminal for forgetting to pay on time that month.
