Sporadic Price Increase

The units are old. They are planning renovations of all units in late 2009. I'm sure the price would be sky high after that point. There is plenty of room and space for storage but the bathroom seems a bit small. Your garage is your assigned parking. For visitor parking, there seems to be 4 or 5 open spaces before 6pm on weekdays. Otherwise you can park along Longbrook. Smaller sized stackable washer/dryer in unit.

I'm a current resident at Wood Creek and can definitely confirm the small bathrooms, especially the spot where the toilet is. I'm a normal sized guy and I remember when I first saw the bathrooms I wondered how a larger sized person would be able to sit down and use the facilities. Kitchens are also small, with the cabinets not being very deep to store items. Washer & Dryer are the stacked kind and mine, when I moved in, showed a 1987 creation date on them. Yup, over 20 years old. Both have been replaced since they died on me, along with the oven and dishwasher. Everyone gets an assigned garage space but they appear to use that for storage and park their cars in the "guest" parking areas, which is why there never is any available spots for guests in the evenings and weekends.

How will they renovate? Will the tenants have to move out? I think someone will have to absorb the cost although it would be nice to have new appliances, paint and carpet. They try but they don't get my vote. I've lived here quite a while and see tenants coming and going. There's quite a turnover because their prices are too high. Honestly,if you compare to other local apartments or homes for that matter, you will see how high Wood Creek is. Why am I here? Good question. I'm reevaluating my tenancy.

I think when your lease is up, they may temporarily move you to another apartment while they renovate yours, assuming you renew your lease. I'm not sure. There are more expensive apartments in Walnut Creek and other parts of Pleasant Hill. The price seems to be primarily based on new appliances and location, more so than square footage.

Yes, the appliances are very old. For under 1000 sq feet your PG&E is surprisingly high. I have requested a few repairs and they were done sufficently although with the cheapest products available. You also pay all utilities here, ie. water and garbage. The best part is the outside grounds. For what you get inside though, rather expensive place for the location of Pleasant Hill.
