Why did you sign a lease???? The last place I lived they made me pay rent until my lease expired, sounds like you got a good deal.

Funny- you break the contract that you read and signed and they suck for holding you to a portion of it. This is what's wrong with our economy,,,no consumer accountability. They should have made you pay until someone else took possession of the home, all of the advertising to get a new resident, and the cost of the administrative process to lease the home again. That is what the law allows for- yet you have the nerve to gripe!

Where the heck is compassion? All you people suck. If you lose your job why in the frick should you have to pay for breaking a lease? You act as if the LEASE is more important than the person.
LOOK idiots, WOODCREEK sucks! They act like they can't rent out their piece of crap apratments. The people who consistenlty talk highly of them on this site are actual employees of Woodcreek, don't be fooled.
So which is it?
1. You break a lease and Woodcreek just can't seem to find anyone to take your place to rent out their broken down crappy section 8 style apartments?
2. Or you break a lease and you are a piece of crap for losing your job and who cares about your situation because deep in their minds they could care less about you, never have and never will?

I agree with the others. As a former tenant of Wood Creek (and no, not an employee) I've posted not-so-favorable reviews here, but your review has nothing to do with the location or the condition of the apartment. While I sympathize with your husband losing his job, the fact is that you both entered into a legal agreement with Wood Creek. I'm sure that you might have found more sympathetic landlords if you had rented from individuals or a smaller company, but then again you might not have. The burden to re-rent an apartment during this recession is harsh. I moved out in March 2009 and I'm pretty sure that my unit is still empty. The building that I was in contained 6 units, and I was the only occupant. All of the others had moved out and those units were still not rented by the time I left. I'm not sure how much time was left on your lease, but legally you would have been required to either pay the amount in full or pay at least until the unit was re-rented, so you probably did get lucky with being required to just pay $2500 even despite the 30 days notice given.
