Safety, price, and friendlyness

I have staid in these apartments quite some time (3yr total on/off). However recently they started increasing the price unreasonably. Don't go for their 'special' deals, as it is more hassle to deal with those price increases, looking for another location, and pay the monthly till you find a good place.
Also there have been a couple of incidents safetywise: a boyfriend/girlfriend related shooting, sumebody stopped and held at knifepoint at the streat right opposite the property, stealing of motorcycle cover, mugging at and around the property; although I do have to mention that the Pleasanton Police does their very best trying to tour on and around the property, probably due to the public park nested at the property. Also asking anything from the property management team seems to be a big deal, they really let it be shown to you if they have to do something that is not part of the daily schedule. Also in the gym, equipment is broken, tv's are missing remotes and manual controls are broken, hotpool seems to be out of order for quite some time. Is this a motel or a luxuary apartment ...
