We have lived at Archstone for 4 months. We signed a 3 month lease. We thought the rent would go up at the end of that lease period. It did - over $350! These apartments are not worth this amount of money. You can rent a single family home or a very nice townhouse for this... The only reason we're staying is because we need a month-to-month.
-Minimal sound insulation between floors - the person above us turns over in bed and we know about it...hear every squeak. When they are up and about - we know exactly where they are in the apartment.
-Windows are double-pane but provide no sound insulation. We constantly have people come in late at night and wake us as they meander through the parking lot...
-Hacienda touts how responsive they are to maintenance request - the 24 hour guarantee promise is a farce.
-Extra charges for garbage are outrageous - we're paying more here than we did for garbage service for our single family home.
-There are other places you can rent for less that have more amenities.
