Terrible Place to Live

I have lived at Empire Lakes from August 2007 to Present and can't believe how the place has gone down hill since then. I have rented apartments my whole life and have never experienced anything like I have here. From day one I was lied to by one of the ----- in the office whom showed us a one bedroom model apartment and indicated that our new apartment would come with a garden tub. Well when we moved into our one bedroom apartment we had no garden tub. We had this little tub that was the smallest tub I had ever seen. When I complained to the office about the tub they said there was nothing they could do because the person whom rented us our apartment was no longer with the company. I also after living in my apartment for a few days needed to take my trash to the dumpster. I couldn't even find one and didn't even know where to take my trash. I called the management office and they told me to just leave my trash out in front of my apartment and that they have a private trash company that picks up trash daily. There were trash bags, diapers and everything else you could think about laying all over the place. Once the winds picked up in this area the trash would blow all over the complex. Due to lazy tenants just dumping their trash without even putting it in trash bags the management office suspended curbside trash pick up and from that day forward which has been from December 2007 to present you have to haul your trash to the only dumpster for the entire complex with over 500 apartments far, far away. Most the time I have to put the trash in my car to drive it to the dumpster. The management office has for over a year now been claiming they are working on a resolution to this problem. In the mean time there are quite a few lazy neighbors whom are just dumping their trash at the base of stairwells where the trash will sit for about 24hours till one of the maintenance men picks it up. Since I have moved in I have also seen alot of good quality tenants move out and a lower class of people move into this building. I have had to call the Rancho Cucamonga Sherrifs department on about 7 ocassions. I have had to call them because of neighbors having parties at 2am, domestic disputes and for neighbors smoking pot on their patio, morning, noon and night. We have also had several apartments broken into. The management office seems to only care about one thing and that is renting out the apartments and collecting a rent check. They don't have any control of the building. A manager is to manage not to just collect a rent check. One last thing. Parking in this building is terrible. There are plenty of parking spots for visitors, however there are neighbors whom store their cars in visitor parking spaces and the office does nothing about it. There is one vehicle that has been parked in a visitor parking spot since I moved into the building and it has never moved. I have even gone to the office to give them the desctiption of the vehicle and licence plate number and they do nothing about it. Every time I give the office an idea about the simple things they can do to get control of this building they do nothing or come up with excuses as to why they can't do what is necessary. I think that they are just cheap and don't want to spend any money to better this community. Also there is only one small pool in the front of the building. Give me a break! One pool for a building with 500 plus units. Amli is a joke of a management company.

I truly hope you will take the time to attend our community meeting in January so we can discuss these issues further. I feel the comments made are very general and if I was given more specifics on the situation I may be able to assist you more. As far as only having one pool, AMLI was not the original builder of the community and have no control over adding an additional pool. We are however going to be adding several new things including new fitness center items in 2009. We have signed a contract for valet trash pick up starting sometime this year however the company has not started in the California market yet. I receive all the police reports that are made and do not have 7 listed for one particular apartment if you could please let me know the apartment number I would be glad to look into it for you. I personally take a lot of pride in what I do as the Community Manager and I take time out of my evenings to attend these community meetings. I truly hope you will join us so we can make this a happy living environment for everyone. Thank you.

You've got a problem area in Building 11. The stairway through the first arch, closest to Milliken. That stairway ALWAYS has trash dumped at the bottom of the stairs. Every time I go to pick up my mail, I see that trash.
