I live here (Amli on Day Creek) and it is a F'ing nightmare!!!! In the past 8 weeks, we have had 2 apartments (that I know of!) broken into by force with theft of property, a minimum of 2 cars broken into with theft. The management REFUSES to keep the gates closed during the day because their F'ing rental office is behind the gate. They don't pay attention to the fact that these burglaries occur during the day while their gates are wide open so that they can rent more apartment. Why not just have people who are interested buzz in and let them in' Do you REALLY care about a potential loss of a renter that much more than your residents' safety''' I would think so. This place is DANGEROUS at best. If you are moving here to stay out of the ghetto, rest assured that Amli on Day Creek will bring the ghetto to you. If you are considering renting a place here, see for yourself that the gates are wide open during the day while the rental office is open, while these crimes take place. Being one of the most expensive complexes in RC, they should either 1.) keep the gates closed at ALL times, or 2.) hire a guard to sit at the entrance and check who is entering, car by car, person by person (how much would that cost' $4k a month' I think they can afford that with their rent prices!) or 3.) relocate the gate so they wouldn't have to worry about losing customers and at least provide residents with protection. Besides these crimes that take place in the middle of the day with no response from management, we have trash scavengers who literally go into the large trash bins looking for "recyclables" (or personal ID'). This is also because the gates are wide open and these scavengers just come in and take care of their business. We have stray dogs that live in our complex. We have solicitors that come knocking on the door selling "magazines for their schools" who get extremely rude if you turn them down. This would be avoided if the gates to the complex would lock, but even when they close the gates at night after the rent office closes, pedestrians (and solicitors) can walk in by the side gate that NEVER locks. Other than that, we have a predatory towing company that I've seen come through the building multiple times a day looking for cars that are illegally parked (coming onto private property looking for illegally parked cars is against the law in CA to my knowledge). Last week they hitched the AT&T maintainance van (I took a picture it was so crazy!) and when the technician saw it, they would not release the van unless he paid them right there. So if you ever want to stop somewhere other than a parking spot to bring up groceries, drop something off, or even move in - you may end up dealing with that tow truck company. I wouldn't be surprised if Amli gets a share of that money because I don't see why else they would have their residents live in such tense environments. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place to ANYBODY. By the way, if you come here to check it out - you will NOT believe this is the same place. Don't get me wrong - it looks really nice from the outside. And the salespeople will probably tell you the posts are old, from competitors, or from one resident and make you think things are far from what you've read here. Do not let living close to victoria gardens and a nice external appearance plus a hard sell from the salespeople have more weight than your SAFETY and peace. And to the "legal and risk management dept" who posts here - this post contains 100% fact and I would urge you to verify it if you don't know about these problems yet. I will revise this post if things change around here (especially he safety issue!). Until then, I recommend staying away from this place!!!
EDIT!!! 12/09/2009
Last night I heard a woman screaming frantically and running as her voice was getting further and further as she screamed. Many neighbors came outside as it was around 9:30pm and we found out that she had been attacked from the back as the attacker apparently grabbed her throat and robbed her. Good thing she ran as it could it have turned into rape. They got away with her purse and laptop. This play is dangerous guys. And guess what' AMLI did not have the respect for residents to hire 24 hour guards to check who comes in and out of the property. People can still walk in the side gate at all times of the day and night. The gate is still wide open during office hours so that people can come talk to the leasing office. If it's locked, people just line up at the gate until someone with a gate opener opens the gate and they all drive in - or if someone exits, they all drive in through the exit gate. We need a guard to check who is coming and leaving with a list of registered owners checking ID and only allowing visitors if notified in advance. Seriously, nothing has changed since the last string of crime that occured here. And the cops - they took like 10-15 minutes to arrive thinking this guy was just hanging out waiting for them to catch him. All I can say is F*** this place. Looks good but it's absolutely a nightmare.

I agree with what this guy says. I've been living here almost a year now and the place is going downhill. The gate does need to be locked at all times. Cars getting broke into and remote to the gate was stolen! Why of all things in the car they would steal a remote? Obviously those whoever stole that remote have plans of coming back in this complex to do more damage. I think the password to that front gate should be changed every so often for safety, lock the gate at all times including the side gates, and for the amount that we're paying, we do deserve a good security guard check point. I also agree about that towing truck driving by several times a day for illegal parking. I dont understand why the management is so on top of that damn towing when theres other problems here that need to get taken care of. They're worried about illegal parking, but they could careless about residents who are getting rubbed and or cars getting broke into. Another thing thats really buggling my mind are those thugs hanging around the complex and driving their cars with a very loud music on. Really?
I think all residents in this complex should get together and complain to the corporate if the management is not responding to this huge issue.

I certainly agree. I wanted to start a thread on topix where we could all write our concerns and share this with corporate. I just wasn't sure how to get everybody in the complex the web address. Thank you for your response. I agree with the thugs hanging around the complex. Many of them don't even appear to be residents and just hang out there. In the summertime, there are thugs that come use our pool and barbeque as well and look at you with eyes of hell if you look at them fearing you will rat them out. This place isn't a place to call home.
