The front office staff is only superficial. Lewis Homes corporation Quality Ratings is a joke, especially in Customer Service. Do not expect any help if you need it. If it suits them, they may help you once you move in. Safety for your family or children is not good. Many child molesters living near by. Check the Megan's Law web site and you will not want to leave your child unattended. The cheap appliances will give you problems and the people they are qualifying as renters are essentially low lifes with money. Vandalism of cars, theft and just because it has a gate doesn't mean safety. Don't move in here. Do yourself a favor and research. Don't believe the slick presentation like many have and left. I personally saw over 7 families that all were glad to leave here and would not recommend living here. Just think about the safety of your family. Appearances is nothing and the service is crap.

Don't count on getting your cleaning deposit back when you move out! The security deposit will be used to draw hourly rate of $150 for cleaning. If you clean the apartment you live in meticulously or even have a professional cleaning crew come in, Lewis Homes will not give your money back and in fact, they will charge you more than your cleaning fees to make it appear that you were a rock star that trashed the place! If you complain, watch out for your truck or car, it may get into an unpleasent state when you approach it one day.

I cannot disagree more! We lived there for 2 years, did not even have a cleaning crew come in and we received every penny back! I don't know how filthy these other people are ... but if you are a good clean tenant you will have no problems getting your deposit back!

One of our cars got a window broken out one night, while parked INSIDE the fences. Tires being slashed is a constant, recurring problem. WE called the police but I have no way of knowing if other renters did or not. The policewoman said this is COMMON in the area. We rented the place Aug 2005 and they finally fixed the big downstairs window that WOULD NOT LOCK - last week - June 2006! TEN MONTHS to fix a window that was not locked. Nice, huh? The clothes dryers are provided and I called them to fix the dryer vent hose. A guy came and used TAPE!!!! to fasten the hose to the wall and to the dryer. I went to Home Depot and bought the PROPER clips for $1.19 each and fixed the dryer vent myself. Last night we had our van parked outside the door because we were LOADING it to go to the Ontario airport for a 12:45am flight to Houston, where my husband had to be TODAY for meetings/work. We had most of the suitcases loaded, and the doors of the van were OPEN so you could clearly see that it was being loaded with many SUITCASES. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I move slowly. I am not a young woman, and I am slow and weak. We were inside getting the cats into their pet carriers, since they flew to Texas with us. I went out to the car because I realized my purse was out there and the van was unlocked and open. The night manager/jerk was out there in his little golf cart with a tow truck getting ready to tow our vehicle loaded with my best clothes, jewelry, and it could have had our two cats in there. We just had not gotten the cats into the van yet. He is named Mag. He is a very nasty person. He said he could call the sheriff and we would never see our van again or get it back, which I am sure is a lie, an exaggeration. I called the leasing office today and told them what happened. I will not stop there. I will write a letter to Lewis Corp and to Oakwood Corp. Oakwood pays Lewis Corp for us to live there. Altogether it is over $4K a month for rent and furnishings and all utilities. Totally furnished executive apartment supposedly. This all happened in a matter of MINTUTES not HOURS and I have no idea how Mag got a tow truck there so fast. Word is that Mag gets a kickback from towing fees. That is ALL He does, have cars towed. He does NO repairs, maintainence, etc. Some other people moved out because of Mag. They were VERY VERY Nice neighbors. We keep in touch with them. We had to tell them FIVE times that the shelf in the garage was down on the floor when we moved in. They finally fixed it after about 6 months. The window was a dangerous thing. We kept telling them NICELY that the window didn't lock. Took them 10 months to fix it. We don't complain when there is a moving van, delivery truck, repair truck, carpet cleaning van, etc blocking the drive. We don't complain when they have huge sheets of carpet all over the drive, where they are measuring it and cutting it to be installed in an apartment. We don't complain when their little golf carts are parked right in front of our door, blocking it. We don't complain when neighbors are moving in or out and they have a moving van or truck blocking our garage for hours. We just wait patiently, trying to be good neighbors. We don't leave our cars parked out in the drive for long periods either. We stop, unload the groceries, or load the luggage up, and move our vehicle to proper parking place or garage. We can't put the Pacifica into the attached garage because the Porsche Carerra is parked in there. But we spend only MINUTES loading and unloading there, NOT HOURS. And yes the ants can be awful. I just spray them myself with spray I get at Home Depot. I think the ants would carry us away before the staff would send someone to spray. So I do as much repair work as I can there. It takes them so many months to come fix anything. When we moved in the doorbell didn't work. I kept telling them it needed a NEW one. Finally after they tried to fix it about 4 times, they installed a new one, and it worked. This took several months, too. It is loud and when it was not working correctly it would ring nonstop, unless you pulled the wire loose. It was loud & annoying. Many days the gates are just hanging open, so what good do they do? None. |
