Cortesia at Rancho Santa Margarita
< | >
I have lived at Cortesia for 7 months and have been mostly satisfied with the whole process. The woman who rented to me was great and no longer here--figures!
Over the past few weeks, I have had thousands of ants and can't seem to get rid of them. I called the office this morning at 9am and was told they would have someone come and spray on THURSDAY. Only 5 days to wait with my Raid in my hand. That's awful--they should take care of these infestations immediately! They SHOULD have someone here MONDAY morning to take care of it, but that's the way this place works.
I live on the 2nd floor and the people below me are CONSTANTLY (at least once or twice a week) calling to complain that I make too much noise and that it sounds like I'm bowling up here. Then the office calls me to quiet it down. Sorry I like to walk. I do nothing out of the ordinary for any human being! Nobody held a gun at his head to move into a 1st floor apartment. He's a total jerk--pounds on the ceiling whenever he thinks I'm too loud. That takes effort on his part. Maybe he should get it through his fat head that if you're on the 1st floor, you're gonna hear noises. If he continues to call, I will investigate my rights as a tenant and see if I can get him on harassment! If not, a taste of their own medicine!
Unfortunately, I moved in with a good rate and it's a pain in the rear to move, so I'll probably stay a while.

A few suggestions: 1. Try wearing sneakers with cushiony heels. "Heelwalkers" can't help the way they naturally place their feet, but try cushioning the impact of your feet a little better! Walking barefoot tends to accentuate the problem, because you tend to more solidly place your heel on the ground. solid rubber, leather, or wood heels also accentuate the noise. Try softer rubber with cushioning. Think about how you would like it if you were the one hearing it all the time. 2. Follow the ants - where do they come from, and where are they going to? Wipe clean their most-followed paths (ants leave chemical trails) with a soap and ammonia cleaner, set out ant traps at the ends of their trails, and plug any holes they seem to go through. If you find they are going into your pantry, stove, etc, check for spilled food and clean it - they love sweets and protein. |

to OCguy145 : That is the biggest bunch of horseshit. No tenant should have guidelines on what type of shoes to wear ... "cushy heels" what a joke. For the price they are paying they should be able to walk around in the unti in whatever the hell they want. As far as the ant infestations... you are obviously missing the point jackass. We have rules to follow according to the lease, we expect you to stand by your committments of keeping these units well kept and attending to these types of issues. Your logic is a freaking joke. |
