Just as my summary says, this apartment community is horrible. It has got to be one of the worst apartment communities I have ever seen or lived at in terms of customer/resident service. There are so many things wrong with this community I am not sure where to begin.
First of all, they suck you in with the fact that this is a great place for a family. During the course of the time I lived there, we (everyone in the apartment community) received probably 4-5 nasty grams that kids should seen but not heard; the kids were not to ride bikes, skateboard, play catch or basically do any of the things kids do being a kid. Although they do provide park passes to the area, I would have rather been charged a lower rent because honestly how many times are you going to drop everything to take your kid to the park. In my opinion judging from how families are treated, they should kick out everyone with a kid, and put up a big sign at the front gate that says "55 or OLDER ONLY".
Next is the front office which I have one thing to say is I am not sure where Equity harvests the rocks that run the front office. Perhaps, they are home grown. In the two years I lived there, the apartment office went through 3 managers and 2 assistant managers. Talk about high turn over rate. I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that on any given occasion the office staff could NOT go out to the pool and be able to tell the residents from the guests who constantly are tearing up the common area. No wonder they spend so much money cleaning up after people.
The office is so bad that there was a period of time while we lived there that we found out through the orange county sherrifs website that a registred sex offender had been living there and that residents had not been notified. When brought to the offices attention, they said it was an error and that it was quickly covered/removed from the web-site.
The only decent thing I can find to say is... (in case you don't listen to my warning) if you ever have a problem, contact the Equity Stockholder Relations Office, those people actually care what you have to say about the community and action happens quickly. Equity (company that owns Skyview) is a company traded on the NYSE (symbol EQR) and made $2.5 billion last year. If you have a problem with them, I highly recommend contacting this office. Buy a share of stock also so that you are a real shareholder. Even if you only have 1 share, SHAREHOLDERS are taken very seriously.
Conclusion, do not walk run away from this apartment community as fast as possible. As much as I hate my ex-wife, this is not a place I would recommend for her to live. That must say something about how bad it is.

I don't feel sorry for families that are asked to monitor and supervise their own children. I lived there and the children ran wild!! Kids play in the road and cause motorist to fear hitting one of them as they ride skateboards freely in front of cars!!! YES, I do expect you to take your child to the park!!
