Not the worst place, but not worth the money.

I have to be honest. This complex isn't THAT bad, however, the rent they charge is far too much for what you are actually receiving. Parking is okay if you are home and in your space before 6:pm. There is parking on the street but the problem with this is that when you want to exit the complex you can't see past the cars that line the street as to whether it is clear to pull out or not. I have had SEVERAL near misses due to this. You have to just hope there is no one coming and floor it out onto the street. You do have a garage, but if you have two cars, make sure you have the one that will not be in your garage in a space before everyone gets home from work or you will have to park outside of the complex. We had a terrible problem with rats in our unit. We first noticed it because they built a nest in our oven and chewed through the wires so that it didn't turn on. Maintenance was called to repair the oven, and even though we told them that it was a chewed wire, they insisted it was something else, ordered a new part for it, and made an appointment to come back and replace it. Of course that didn't fix it. About 5 return visits later and practically a new oven (due to all the new parts)they discovered a chewed wire, just as we had said. The wire was replace, but the new thermostat that was put in previously was ALL WRONG. Then oven wouldn't even turn on under 450 and I'm sure was more like 4500 as it burned everything to ash in 5 minutes. We finally stopped calling them back and fixed it ourselves (about 4 months later). After that experience, we repaired everthing we could on our own. We sealed holes in the kitchen and bathroom to close out the rats, so they started trying to come in through the drains. One got stuck and died, blocking our kitchen sink for a week and smelling horribly! You could hear them underneath the tub just before we moved out. They built those apartments with the cheapest materials available and I had many things break due to that, such as the water pipes bursting under the floor for one. Now that I have gone through a lot of the bad features, I can say, for the most part, neighbors are courteous and friendly, there isn't a lot of noise really except the occasional party on the weekends, but that's too be expected anywhere. I read another review on here about the new management seeming only concerned with filling the empty units and showing little concern or care for the needs of the current residents and I feel that this is true. The maintenance staff are very nice and though not the most qualified people, they really do try to be helpful and ready to assist. The complex is very clean and tidy and they didn't seem to have a crime problem. So all in all, it is an okay place to live, but for the amount of rent, I know there are much better complexes with less problems for close to the same monthly rent and some for even less in the same area. If you move into this apartment, I think you will be disappointed with it. It looks nice, but try living there! I take that back actually... try living somewhere else first.
