Getting your security deposit back is a nightmare!!! (still working on it)

I lived at Villas Antonio apartments for about a year and a half. When I decided to leave I gave notice, scheduled a walk-through, cleaned the place above and beyond to make it perfect. The walk-through went great and I was told to expect my security deposit back within 21 days. A full month goes by before I finally recieve a letter demanding payment for the month after I left. I was shocked, thinking this must be a mistake. After contacting the apartment office, they claimed that I did not give notice before leaving. (What a SCAM!!!) They are still trying to get me to pay them $700 over and beyond the security deposit, and they are almost impossible to reach now. I am now forced to take them to court. What a nightmare this has been!!!
