I have lived here since they opened. It appears to be a nice upscale community. At first glance, the office staff seems also be upscale and more than willing to accomodate each and every one of your needs. Once the papers are signed and you move in the entire picture changes.
It is actually quite loud which is where the air conditioning comes into play. You can't open your windows as the trains are running now 7 days a week, almost 24 hours a day. Bad enough that they are loud, but they lay on the horn across the entire back of the complex as it near a crossing. Additonally the walls are quite thin and you can clearly hear all coversations and more of your neighbors. The fixtures are all cheap in all rooms and the "neo-roman" bath is actually a plastic tub that is too shallow to soak in.
The building is supposidly secure, however the parking lot gates are contstantly broken and stuck open, giving anyone complete access to the non secure elevators. Twice now I have been locked out completely as the gates have been stuck closed. Let's not even go into the fire alarms that go off often for no apparent reason. Nobody even evacuates anymore, it is just sad.
The best part of the entire program is when you move in your offerred a decent, although still high rent. When your lease term is up, the rent is then increased to what they term "market rate" which in most cases is over 30% higher than you are currently paying. The justification for this is the typical smoke and mirrors method of advertising. They write the lease for market value initially and then offer what they term "Consessions" off of it. When you go to renew, the consessions are no longer offered as you are not a "new" tenant. Total rip off as you would have to be seriously mental to pay the rates on the website.
Living here was a total nightmare and I would highly recommend not going through it. Don't be fooled by the pretty exterior as once inside, it is quite the ugly scene.
