Awful place to call home, a sham (full review by tenant)

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
From the first day we moved into the Franklin street apartment complex, in Redwood city, we experinced the most miserable apartment experience ever. On our move in date, the apartment was filthy, the kitchen had old crusted food still on the counter tops, stove, cabinets as well as the refrigrator. The apartment had a strong sour unpleasant smell. It took the apartment management three days to clean it up. We had to put up with this grime for three days because it was very difficult to scrape the grime off ourselves, we tried. What a "welcome to your new home" experience. Within the first two weeks, we learned about the cheap and terrible (but brand new looking) appliances that our 2100$ 2bed-2bath apartment has. For example, when we cooked food in the oven, the knobs for the range would melt and warp, causing any burners that are lit to stay stuck and dispensing fire. We would have to wait about 30 minutes after the stove cooled off for the knocks to warp back, in order to turn off the fire. Very, very dangerous and emberresing when family and friends were in our kitchen. Ok, I'm going to try to wrap this up because I could write more details about our awful experience with Franklin Street Apartments for a long time. The noise from the train is awfully loud, it felt like the acoustics in the apartment amplified the noise. The apartment complex boasts garbage shoots which get all cloged up on weekends, start smelling and are quite repulsive to live around mounds of garbage that always piles up, for a lack of garbage bins. The neighborhood is quite scary, there are lots of seedy and shady characters that walk around Franklin Street at night and gave my girlfriend quite a scare on many occasions. So much so that she is affraid to leave the apartment in the evening. The car's garage door is often stuck, broken. There are many break-ins, thefts from vehicles that are parked in the garage. We've asked the complex to place cameras there but they have refused. All they care about is collecting the rent check. You will be limited to having DirectTV! The Franklin Street apartments do not allow having ComCast cable and there is no such cable tv infrustructure on the grounds! It is a sad joke and a lot of nerve that The Franklin Street Apartment tries to brain wash naive people that are looking to rent, in believing that their apartments are "luxury". There is nothing of luxury about the Franklin Street apartments, its all a facade, a sham. I admit, we were naive too and totaly duped.
