I lived here during the years of 2000-2001 My car was broken into , my roomates car was broken into twice, and two of my neighbors cars were also broken into.

This happened in Las Palmas 2.

There are 3 complexes, and dont think that Las Palmas 1 is safe because the rental office is there.

I had 2 friends whose cars were broken into there also.

Once car was parked in the garage.

They have wire fences that seperates the garages on the inside.

The gates that allow entry into the complexes are constantly broken.

Luckily a lot has changed in the 7 years I've lived here. New management kicked out a lot of the "bad elements", and the surrounding area in general has definitely improved. Like the guy's review said, my car and my apartment got broken into when I first moved in (2001), but now I lock my car and my garage door, and put extra security on my doors and windows in the apt. and I haven't had any problems since! Unfortunatley if you park on the street outside of the complex you are still taking a huge risk of a break-in. The gate is still broken and they have no plans to fix it because they know that a few ignorant a-holes will just break it again by pushing it open with their cars. Never had a problem with new management and girls in the office are really sweet. Maintenance is what it is, I mean there is only one guy who can only do so much! Sometimes it's worth it to just fix a problem yourself and be done with it. The biggest problem now is fighting with the ants every Summer. When it comes to apartments, you get what you pay for, and the rent at Las Palmas is very reasonable.....for what you get! Good luck.
