Security Issues

Quailpointe apartments no less than three years ago was a fine complex to live. The apartment was a gated community and was kept clean and there was harmony among tenants in keeping the place protected. We had a professional security organization on contract that did a fairly decent job making tenants feel secure.

However, within the last few months the security organization was released from contract. However, no written notice was filed with the tenants stating the reason why and tenants had to get the information by word of mouth.

Soonafter, an ex-convict was hired in the role of security. When tenants asked what the newly hired security person?s offense was that landed him in jail we were told it was none of our business or simply told nothing at all.

Standard professional practice indicates that with the hire of new security personnel a letter should have been issued to tenants introducing the new hire and framework as to whatever changes in enforcement were forthcoming. This was not done. The new security personnel began a rampage throughout the complex placing boots on peoples? tires and charging them $25 to have the boot removed. It is suspected the money went to the security personnel?s pocket and not to the management office.

It is also suspected nepotism has come into play since it is alleged the new hire is a family member of one of the managers.

However, contracts all tenants signed specified that we would have a professional security detail and it also specified that security personnel would not live on the complex. The new hire lives on the premises.

Instead of feeling secured, tenants are now feeling harrassed and have no reprisal because the individual in question has a family member is the managerial office.

Since our apartment complained, we are being made an example of and are now being evicted.

If anyone is looking for an apartment were tenant rights are considered and the American born right to speak freely is adhered to, then this not the apartment for you.
