I love it but it's dangerous

We love our present apartment. The biggest factor in the bay area quality of life is traffic and the traffic were we live in Richmond is wonderful. When we drive to a major population area like San Francisco or the south bay we are always driving in the opposite direction of the traffic jams. We don?t have to go through much urban traffic to go to the Sierras or the Napa valley. Where we live is called the hilltop area. It is at just the right elevation to disrupt the natural fog pattern. We can see much of the San Pablo bay from our veranda.. The fog that comes in from the golden gate almost always stops a couple of miles south of here. It is not unusual to have an over cast sky as far as the eye can see and a beam of sun shine where we live. We can see mount Tam from where we live. We can also see San Francisco from here; we watched the fire works on New Year?s Eve. We have a dishwasher, covered parking spot, AT&T broadband and community laundry across the street. There is no dry grass where we live, so we can barbeque every week just like we did in the mid west. The main reason not to move here is that we don?t live in a gated community and we are in walking distance from some sort of housing project. Break ins are common. Especially through the tiny bathroom window. I had my licenses plate stolen my next door neighbor had his car broken into the other day. The homeless are in our dumpster around the clock you don?t want your small children taking out the garbage because no one can see what happens around the fenced in dumpster. You cant recycle because the homeless throw everything on the ground as they dig to the bottom. . My wife and I tried to use the tennis court once. Two little boys about 7 or 8 years old threw rocks at us while shouting ?honkey? and other such things. We moved here out of desperation it was the only place we could afford. After we paid the 1st months rent deposit and pet deposit we had less than $100 dollars to live from. It was the worst month of my adult life. I will always be grateful they let me move in. Every single experience I?ve had with the staff has been ideal. I?ve heard dubious things but I cant confirm them. They make great efforts to keep living here affordable. Our particular apartment was renovated almost like new. Our neighbors cause us no problems. Yes there is an ice cream truck constantly driving by, car alarms go off all the time and the washers break down a little too often but so what! I cant afford paradise on my salary. I love it here it?s just too dangerous especially on the first floor.
