I've been at Bella Vista for 8 months now. I like it a lot. I really like the landscape, tons of trees. Parking has not been a problem for me. Guests have not had a problem getting a place to park. My nieghbors have been pretty quiet for the most part. Lots of amenities (pools, big gym, tennis courts, tot lot) and the Transbay bus right outside the complex goes directly to SF which is good for me since I work in SF. The complex is also located close to a TON of shopping (mall, big box stores, chain restaurants).

The downsides to this place, MOLD! Had a mold problem in my unit during the rainy season. Took a while and a few visits from maintenance to get rid of all of it. The lush landscape can be a double edged sword because of all the spiders in my apt among other creepy crawlies; it's also impossible to keep your car clean with all of the pollen. There's also a lot of ferral cats running around this place.

Security is non-existant. The guards are really just for show. The gates are smashed sometimes (the complex is not really gated, there is a gate for cars, but anyone can walk in, there's no gate for pedestrians). That being said, my car and apt have never been broken into or vandalized.

Other than that, it is an apt, so expect a little noise from your neighbors, and a few calls to management to get things done.

As for people, you have every race here, singles, families, and a lot of people with dogs. This really is a nice place, but because it's Richmond, most people probably wouldn't even consider it.

Bella Vista looks great on the outside, but is not worth the money you pay. The apartment I have smells horrible and it was not ready on the date i was scheduled to move in. The carpet was dirty it smelled of smoke, it was not painted and I guess to make a long story short it smells and looks like a ran down motel 6.
