Boulder creek is a beautiful complex, older but well maintained. I had a year lease and in that time my car was broken into twice and my apartment was robbed- clean out once. Don't be fooled by security or the sheriffs station near by it doesn't help. Be extremely careful if you choose to live on Spruce or any ground floor patios/units that face the major streets or expecially under the trees. It is a perfect location for thieves as they cannot be seen from the street breaking in. I would strongly encourage that you first, get renters insurance with a low deductible if you live on the street level and facing the street and or under trees. Second, never park your car or leave anything in site while parked on Spruce. Landlords will not admit to any problems or they will say they have security- don't believe it protect yourself and get renters insurance. Managers didn't blink an eye when I moved out due to the constant fear of being robbed or car broken into- they don't have much control over the problem however they also don't do ANYTHING to help make a safer complex such as removing the trees or hiring more security or install cameras. One last issue is that with the tree's it's very moist and with rain then heat lots of insects, ants roaches and some rodents in the ceiling, walls and inside the apt. regardless of how clean you are.
