I lived at Boulder Crest for about a year, and found the place to be a mix of the good and bad. The apartments are spacious. However, they are dated with horrible blue carpet, yellow stove and the kitchen and bathroom floors have peeling, scuffed up linoleum. There was water damage in the kitchen, and there are only two closets in the whole apartment. The worst thing was the flea problem outside, along with ants and termites. I didn't really see the critters indoors though, which was good.

The best thing about the apartments is that there is ample parking and a beautiful grounds. The pool is open 24 hours and is eight feet deep with a spa. The groundskeepers are really nice guys, and work hard to keep the place looking nice. However, how much does the outside matter when no money is being invested to keep the inside looking nice' It really is a shame that the only maintenance done is that which is sorely needed.

If you're looking for a cheap, old apartment this is for you. I would recommend it to students who need to get to UCI, because it is in really close proximity. However, if you don't want to deal with the student lifestyle you may want to look elsewhere.

Oh, and good luck getting in touch with the receptionist in the office. There are no posted hours anymore so the receptionist comes and goes whenever she pleases. Its a real pain when your packages are in the office for several days at a time.
