I found living at Boulder Crest a great experience while attending UCR. The rents were (are) very affordable and maintenance was always taken care of when there was a problem. It is essentially a no frills complex with older tenants, mostly grad students and small families. The pool is beautiful and well maintained and the landscaping is very nice and well kept. There is a laundromat on the premises and all the machines are kept clean and in working order by Joe, the maintenance guy and resident mascot. Joe and the owner, Rod, are very pleasant guys to have around and always helpful with tenant problems or concerns. The place is gated and one feels safe there with only the occasional theft that is common in the area. I enjoyed the 1/2 mile walk to UCR although the bus stop is just on the corner. There is no reason this complex should have so many vacancies it is a great value for So Cal and well located for students going to the university.
