CastleRock was great when Metric owned it, or even before that, when it was a private owner. Over the years, the service has been horrendous. The worst (and the cause of me leaving - at the time I was the longest resident in the complex) was last year when they re-striped the asphalt on the parking lot. The genius pavers, paved my parking spot (clearly labeled) with diagonal white lines, essentially making it no parking. I was told repeatedly by the idiotic pretty-faced office girls that I could still park there, with no problem while they fixed it. Someone should have told the private security guard, because the dude tried 3 times to tow my car. I must have asked them to fix it, which they repeatedly said they did, at last 6 times, and guess what....it was never fixed! So, I told them that they were the worse mamangement I had ever dealt with (they also one time tried to double charge people for rent, and then told us to 'work it out with your bank'), and I was leaving. I'm now in Yucaipa and LOVING it!! F Riverside!!!!

This area is one of the nicest in riverside. The new remodeled apartments are luxurious and accordingly priced. My first year at Castlerock was problem free. When the complex switched management, newsletters and notifications were placed about the incoming management but their new rules were never stated. Previous management verbally told me and allowed me to park in the roundabout (which was not a redzone) if there were no parking spaces after coming home late at night. When I did that with the new management, they eagerly towed my car away. When I explained to them to at least warn their tenants and keep them well informed about the differences of new management they basically did nothing. Basically it was my loss and too bad. The new management is made up of beautiful young, straight out of college, good for nothing women. They can do absolutely nothing for their tenants other than dress up and offer cookies. They are the complete depiction of someone you do not want to do business with. The new management at castlerock is horrendous. They are fake, rude, and don't care. 6 months before my lease was up, I verbally informed them that I would not be renewing the lease and vacating the premises. Before our last month my roomates and I inquired about a probated rate to move out early when UCR let out and when we pay the probated rate they don't accept it. Even though they knew exactly when we were moving out after talking to them months ahead of time, on multiple occasions, they purposely lacked to inform us that we needed to supply them with a written notification one month prior. We could have simply taken care of that if they had told us to, but they tricked us into paying for the whole month because they waited to tell us 2 weeks before we planned to vacate. To make matters worse, when we tried to reason with the management, or simply learn more about the situation, she became hostile with us and we had to calm her down! We explicitly stated, "We're not trying to be rash with you, we just want a explaination why you couldn't have told us previously when we inquired about it months ago." She responded, "That's not our job, we have no legal commitment to inform you." when we told her she was being rude she stated, "This is how i do business, straight and too the point, I don't like beating around the bush." After 3 years, I could not wait to move out. They are unorganized, forgetful, inconsiderate, argumentative, and unreasonable. They aren't running a business, they're running a scam. Words can not express how much I hate castlerock!

Well, I still live there and have lived there for a year now, and I agree with both posts so far. As A matter of fact, its almost as is I wrote them myself. I have never in my life seen such unprofessinal, uncaring, 2 faced people in my days. The office staff, for one, is not pretty. And you never know who the manager is, because when you call in for a concern, they never seem to be there. When I have asked, who is the Manager? The response I received was,"not here". Okay. Over the year I have resided at Castlerock, I have had numerous concerns with plumbing, leaks, the windows, you name it. Before I even moved in My girlfriend went to wash a load of laundry and left. when she came back to the apartment, the whole place was flooded. they did not put the drain hose on the Washer....this should have been my first clue. We did the walk through and pointed out the things that were wrong. And they stated very nicely that they would repair all of these things within 2 weeks. 1 year later, nothing. I had many problems with leaks and plumbing. I could not use my bathroom or shower for 2 days on several occasions. i ended up fixing the concerns myself. my recent one is the ice maker line leaking. when i called 2 weeks ago to alert them of this. they stated they would have someone over. i explained to them that i would just replace it myself and provide a recipt, if i didnt get reimbursed, oh well, at least i knew it was taken care of. She assured me that it would be taken care of and that i wouldn't have to repair it myself. 2 weeks later, no phone call no ice maker. I have tried several times to get the managements number. to no avail. i have tried to loacte it on the internet. nothing. I have tried everything to get something done about the management of this place. nothing. The maintenance crew does nothing but drive around in their golf carts all day. i want that job. and its nice they allow dogs, and even mentioned that they would inforce a strict leash and waste rule where all dogs must be leashed and all waste must be picked up. i still will not walk across the grass, and i invite you to come and visit Castlerock and see our many wild dogs running free, fighting and crapping all over. I would invite you in for a drink, but it will have to warm, i have no ice.
