Well, my brothers lease was up last month...as I stated earlier, in June, my brother and his wife live a few doors down from us. Again, my brothers lease ended at the end of August....mine and my wife's lease ends at the end of September, but from what the leasing office tells me, "They are a couple months behind and that we should just pay month to month until the new lease agreements come out." Well, here's the other thing....some inspectors have been looking in all of the apartments and frankly, what my brother and I have decided is that Lyon is selling the apartments and cannot be tied down to leases at this time as once the sale is complete, the new owner will start their own leases. I don't like that really.....I don't feel that I should have to live month to month wondering if my rent will be payable the next month.
They tell me I am to give 60 days notice when I plan to vacate...but I bet you dollars to doughnuts that if they raise my rent and I can't pay it, they won't give ME 60 days.
I am calling again to see if I can get a 6 month lease.
Anyone on here know if legally I should be able to demand a lease'
Oh, by the way....if you live away from the leasing office, figure that the maintenance will be sublevel as to that on the main drag near the leasing office and any territory that you might drive up to the leasing office....that area is their priority -- my area -- NOT their priority.
