I haven't been hit by crime, but I've met several residents who have had cars stolen or broken into. With the management cutting down all backyard fences from about 6 feet to 42 inches (just 3.5 feet!), without even surveying the community for their thoughts on the issue, I feel the value of my rental has been degraded. I will have less privacy (anyone can easilly look into my back yard and windows, forcing me to keep my blinds shut all the time now), and less security (whatever I might have had in my back yard can now easilly be seen and removed). Not to mention I must now stake my cat down in the back yard, as the new fences can be jumped.
Had I known this was planned when it was time to sign a new lease some months ago, I would not have resigned. It was the well enclosed back yards, and the security and privacy they afforded that orignally led me to finally select Corona Point. They are arbitrarily destroying one of their better selling points.
I should also mention it took about 3 months to get a clothes dryer with a bad bearing fixed (sounded like a jet engine), and month to get a problem with the heater fixed. (I was willing to let that slide, but if my fence comes down, I'll have had enough)
