Hello future tenants,
I rented Spruce Village for three years and I lived in a 2bed 2bath downstairs apartment. The first year it wasn't so bad because my car was only broken into in the carport once and the area was really neat and tidy and the neighbors noise level was nice. However, the next two years I stayed the management was changing and the nicest manager left and then my car was fined because there are seriously no parking spots especially with too many people living in one house and having many cars and then the streets are full of cars. you are not allowed to park across the street or you will be fined and eventually towed. So after about 7 p.m. there is no parking spaces. Also, i had invited friends over and their car had been broken into and they stole alot of their possessions and my friends saw the guys run away. My car has been broken into for a total of 4 times and i lost my radio twice and cds and other stuff. The last time they broke my window and the car parked in front of mine. Its just not a safe area because its too dark at night and is easy for crime to take place and also spruce suppossedly has security but its pretty crappy... i know alot of stories that have also occurred to my friends who moved out, so if you can I would advise to avoid moving to this apartment especially since its not gated and I have seen so many wandering people around the parking lot, carports.... Also if you are a UCR student the bus no longer has a direct route, so i would say spend a few extra bucks and rent at a nicer spot is my advice. The only nice thing I can say is that the maintenance is very good and they make repairs pretty rapidly. email kctrinity11@aol.com if you have any more questions and I will be free to tell you more pro and cons
