I lived at UV Towers for one year, 2008-2009. During that year:

My toilet clogged multiple times. They just changed the chain in the toilet, but it did nothing to stop the clogging. After that I invested in a plunger which worked much better than what their maintenance provided.

My AC unit leaked for over two months. Maintenance was in and out of my room weekly, only because I kept on them to fix it, and it wasn't until after month two that they called in a professional who finally fixed what should have been mended months earlier.

On multiple occasions the maintenance people left my bathroom completely soaked when they left after "fixing" the AC unit. They soaked the toilet paper roll at least 3 times without replacing it. Orange paste would be left in the sink and on the cabinets. Someone even wiped their DIRTY hands on my WHITE face towel. Only when I brought the towel in to the office did they even attempt to apologize and clean my face towel. Over two weeks later I received the towel back DAMP and off white. They would not replace it.

An unknown person off the street came up to our door at 2am and threatened to kill everyone in the apartment. The office staff would not allow us to change rooms, nor would they close the card access gate leading to the apartment complex to increase safety.

The office closed early on the day before a 3 day weekend without prior warning, just a note posted on the door saying they left early. This happened to be right before rent was due. Many residents were left outside confused and frustrated because if they turned the rent in on Monday, it would be considered late and there would be an added fee. How is it that not even one staff member could stay until the end of the day'

Upon checkout a staff member walked through the apartment and said no charges would be made and that the apartment looked like it was in good condition. Two months later I received a cleaning bill for my bathroom when right before I left I cleaned/ disinfected the tub, toilet, sink, mirrors, and floor TWICE. When I called them about this charge they took down a message. Two weeks later no one called back, so I had to call them. I am still fighting this charge.

Do not live here if you value professionalism and honesty. They will try to cheat you out of as much money as they can without any regards to your well being as a resident. I have rented multiple apartments and a house and none have been as awful or as much of a train wreck as University Village Towers in Riverside, CA.
