Revisiting "Don't Even...."

When I last wrote my review of 8/16, I hadn't yet found out that part of the shortfall on my deposit was that I was charged for "painting and tile repair." Huh' First off, I've never heard of having to pay for the next tenant's paint job. I sure didn't benefit from a new paint job when I moved in. Secondly, I didn't damage any tile, so where does the repair come in' Just one more way to keep some of the tenant's mony.
We now face taking the manager and/or the manager to court not only for refusal to pay the deposit, but because of all their lies and then refusing to negotiate in good faith. With all the petty excuses along the way and then the abrupt e-mail refusals, along with all the evidence I have about how unsafe the area is for blind and partially sighted people to walk around the Glenbrook Apartment area, I think the judge will have an easy time siding with us.
If you're thinking about Glenbrook, just drive right on past it and find an apartment where the management will treat you better both while you live there and then when you move on. Just be forewarned, if you move into Glenbrook, you'll lose most of your deposit and will wind up fighting for it just like I'm having to do.
