HOT WATER ISSUES!! It is either too hot with no available cold water, even in the toilet (seriously, your butt gets a sauna) or it is freezing cold. The management knows the boiler is a problem. Here's how bad it is...they offered to let me out of my lease after I had been here a month! Landlords NEVER do that unless they have to admit there is a serious problem that they are not willing to fix!! In 30 years of apartment living I have NEVER had such an awful rental experience. Maintenance is so clueless they were unable even to fix my bathroom light. Please do not be taken in by the external, cosmetic improvements! The buildings are really old, were not well constructed and have not been well-maintained. All the updates have been done very cheaply and like the world's most incompetent handyman did them. Yes, they installed a dishwasher but look at the unsealed, gaping holes where the cabinet door screws used to be. The window and door seals are long gone so the cold wind wooshes in. The gate hasn't worked since I moved here, and the timers for the security lighting at night is always out of whack. One morning I even saw a dead RAT in the courtyard by the laundry room!!

I was told that the apartments have free wireless, it is even in the brochure. The brochure doesn't say that not all apartments have it, and I SPECIFICALLY asked if ALL apartments get it and was told yes, but guess what...turns out my apartment is too far away to get it. They LIED to me about that, surprise surprise!! I was also told that water/sewer/trash was included so I was surprised when I got a bill that included a sewer charge. The manager's response was that she has heard that from other people too, she must have made a mistake...are you frigging KIDDING me''' So my good deal on a "spacious" apartment suddenly isn't so good now that I have to pay for internet and sewage. That combined with the awful water issues and the management attitude is just too much. I'm taking their "get out of jail free" pass and moving to a better maintained complex where I can have a normal shower. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

What did you say for them to let you out of your lease? I'm trying to get out of mine and I've been complaining like crazy and they won't let me out unless I pay an extra month's rent.
