It's alright, but not the best.

I moved there because it was the only place in the area who would take me for my credit and no leasing history. It was my first apartment. It's an alright place, but definitely not the best.
First off, the shower water sucked. It didn't stay warm long enough. I literally had to take 5 minute showers. Anything longer than that, the water would've started getting cold. I just didn't get it though, because the sink water and washing machine waters were scorching hot! The central A/C and heating system didn't work too well either. After using my heater, I'd have to pull it's plug (in the closet it was placed in) to ensure that it would turn off completely and then plug it back in maybe an hour later to see if it would still remain on or was off. When I used A/C, I normally set it to AUTO at around 70 degrees, but it never got the cool, according to the thermostat. It felt like it was blowing cool air, and it was comforting especially during summer heat, but there is a reason why people set their A/C systems to automatic. To not have the A/C running all day. So I just had to turn it on and off because I was so afraid the bill would be so high if I left it on all day. On a few occasions, I had to reset it too. The neighbors across me had parties every weekend, which was fine with me because I went out on weekends, but I can imagine how aggravated I would've gotten if I were to be someone who stats home and sleeps early on weekends. The mailboxes had holes, I don't know why. I was so paranoid that important mail could've been snatched, but I was just paranoid. The holes weren't that big. The floors creeked, and I'm the type who considers the downstairs tenants, so I had to walk lightly at night.
As for the good stuff, the upstairs unit I had, had elevated ceiling, so it didn't seems as small. The trees outside my window blocked the sun and heat from coming in during summer. The people in the community are all very nice and welcoming. You can easily talk to them about how your day was and befriend them. The children have a blast playing outside. The pool was really put to use. The maintenace guy and office workers were really nice and they were there whenever I had an emergency. I can agree that the place has really cleaned up. When I first looked at the place, I really didn't want to come back. I was disgusted. But after finding out that they were the only complex in Rocklin that would take me due to my credit and no leasing history, I had to take it. I definitely did NOT hate living there.
I recommend it to people who are pretty chill. The neighbors will be loud on weekends the units are older, but it's still an alright place to live. Especially for people who can be in the same position as I was. Got a transfer from the bay area (which made Rocklin/Roseville/Sacramento areas seem DIRT CHEAP to me. I had rental history, but no leasing history and Hidden Grove was the only complex in the area that would take me. And they were the cheapest. If you cry over little things, then this place isn't for you. But if you're pretty chill, like me, then it's actually and alright place to be.
