On the outside the apartment complex seems to be a nice place to live. A lot of trees, pretty well maintained and a small community. On the inside it is a very different story!
Before moving in to the apartments it took the on site managers three months to get back to me! I called every other day during that three month period with no answere or call back!
When I finally did move in I informed the managers on the third day of move in that my CHA unit was not working properly. It took them almost a full year to finally come up and check my unit. I lived there for over three years and the unit was NEVER properly fixed!
I also had many problems with the wiring in my unit & my garbage disposal constantly went out on me.
The second bedroom (my young son's room) was above the office and my husband & I were told that our son was not allowed to play in his bedroom during office hours.
My husband and I were also told that we were not allowed to smoke cigarretes on our porch because it made the complex look "ghetto" and that we would have to do so in our apartment even though it says not to in our lease. It didn't matter to them that we had a young child in the house.
We also had issues with another tenant who was a "looky-loo" and the apartment managers said that it would be in our "best interest" if my husband broke in to this paticular tenant's apartment unit & vandalize it to try to scare him in to moving out! Of course my husband did not do what they suggested.
And lastly, upon moving day our young son got locked in to our apartment with the keys in the unit as we were moving our belongings out. It was during office hours and before the normal "lunch" time. The managers were not in their office and were not at home. Thier car was not on site either. There was no note on the office door saying that they were out nor on their home door. So my husband did the first thing that we thought should be done & he kicked the door in. Thank God our son was okay!
We were charged a few months later seperately in the amount of well over $1,500.00 in damages to the unit. I find that funny not only because my husband and I were both charged seperately for the same amounts but because we had spent three days making that apartment pristine! It was cleaner (other than the broken door) than the day we moved in!
If you are looking to move in to this apartment complex I highly suggest that you think twice unless you would honestly like to be constantly at battle with these people!
