You pay more but you're not getting more.

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
My girlfriend and I lived there from the Summer of 2003 to the Summer of 2004.
For the last few months of our stay we were under the new private party management and they were very nice and helpful.
My complaints are not about the management but the apartment complex itself.
First things first the 1 bedroom apartment we were in was very spacious. At the time, we got the lease for 725 for 1 year and it was 750sq feet. So it was a good deal.
The floor plan for 1 bedroom is great and there was always room to move around.
That was where the good things ended. The parking there was horrible at times. They are not assigned parking so it's "every man to themselves". It always seemed like there were more people living there with cars then parking spaces. Here is another thing for you, the spaces are poorly spaced. Some spaces are bigger than others. So if you found a spot to park, chances are it's going to be the smallest spot.
Another thing you have to realize is this complex is NOT gated. My car was broken into and things were stolen. I never in my life thought this would happen in Rocklin, but it did. I talked to some of their neighbors about it and they heard of it happening to other people. There are police that occasionally stroll the parking lot. But since it's not gated anybody can come in and out of there.
Example, while we were living there we had a "dumpster bandit". This guy would come every saturday or sunday (sometimes more) and pick through the 2 dumpters for cans or bottles. At least I hope that's what he was looking for. He would go so far as tearing trash bags to check inside.
Here is the proof I took from our apartment one morning.

finally, the laundry facility is "nice" but it was constantly being broken into and the change was being stolen. All they would need are some cameras to watch the place because everyone thought that it was someone living there. I hope that the new management took care of that.
The apartment we had faced the setting sun. During the summer and spring the living room would be soo hot. The air conditioning didn't help because the vent was so far.
This complex is definately not the cheapest in rocklin, but it's like almost right on a corner so it's highly visible.
There are plus' like the size of the apartments, but I think the -'s outweigh the plus' in this situation.
