After living there one year and always hassling with the management when I left I was billed for "wear and tear" painting and "Medium cleaning" and rug replacement.
I left the apartment very, very clean and after talking to the owner I was told that "clean means different things to different people". They change personnel constantly and no one knows what is really going on. Do not rent there..........you truly will be sorry.

Having helped my friend by shampooing the carpets, and having witnessed the care with which she cleaned the apt., I was appalled that the manager is attemtping to keep her deposit and then bill her on top of that. You are better off renting somewhere, anywhere, else.

This is also happening to me. I have been fighting them since 12/2005 and now they sent me to collections. They also will not provide the proper paperwork that shows the costs of the work done after I moved out!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!

"Rug replacement" typically means they needed to replace your carpet because it couldn't be salvaged after whatever you did to it. And you need to remember that when you pay a security deposit, any cleaning charges are going to be taken out of that when you leave- That's why they GET deposits. DUH. Deposits insure that their property will be at least partially protected in case it's trashed by residents.
