At first it seemed like Highland Creek would be a great place to live because the office staff came across as helpful at first, but once they get a hold of your money they want nothing to do with you. Like so many hopeful people I followed the procedure given to me by staff member ---- ------- and did what I was told in order to be on the waiting list, but a couple of months later, I was informed that my money order was lost and possibly stolen. I was also informed that they lost $200 dollar deposits of other interested parties as well, due to Highland's lack of keeping money and personal information secure. THANK GOD I DIDN'T GIVE THEM MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER BECAUSE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN STOLEN TOO!!! As a matter of fact, it was later confirmed to me by ---- that Highland Creek does not secure any of their files and were, up until now, easily accessible because nothing was locked away in a vault. As of now, I am still fighting to receive my $200 dollar deposit back. The office staff are uncooperative and incompetant. They could care less about losing your money or valuable personal information. In other words, the customer service is horrible and these people can not be trusted.

For those in the same situation, here are some numbers you can try calling:

Strangely enough, the same thing happened to me. They 'lost' my $200.00 money order for the deposit and called me telling me I needed to provide another one or my place on the waiting list would be forfeited. I traced the money order with Moneygram, and ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES CASHED IT!! The handwriting matched the girl who took all of our information initially. When we confronted the management team about this, they sort of half-assed apologized and said 'this has never happened before' and it took almost six months to get the refund submitted?? I was obviously olied to, since it has happened to at least one other person. I wonder how many others have had their information/deposits stolen?
