We have been living at Olympus Park Apartments for the past three months. When I initially went in to view the place, I was mistaken by how nice they make the office, model, and grounds look. She assured me that this was such a great, safe, quiet, living quarters....with NO bug problems other than the occasional ant.

My boyfriend's and my reaction once moved in was a lot different than the enthusiasm we had beforehand. The place just looked so dirty. The carpets were dirty, the bathroom smelled like mildew and looked dirty no matter how much we cleaned.

Then about 2 weeks into living here, we saw our first cockroach and it only spiraled down from there. We saw them all the time even though we kept the place so CLEAN without any excess water or food. Everything was in airtight containers, we made sure to dry EVERYTHING (including the sinks and shower) anytime there was any water and yet we still were seeing them all the time.

So, we complained and she offered a pest control company. She used this sentence "We have been successful in the removal of cockroaches in other apartments." Anyone who has ever had cockroaches or talked with a pest control company should know you can never get RID of cockroaches. You may be able to control them, but not rid them.

So, after we had gotten everything settled and moved in, we had to pull it right back down and place in the middle of the floor for the pest control. Usually they say if you get cockroaches the first week after the spray, its normal. But after that you really shouldn't see them. Well, the first week came with lots of cockroaches and so did the second, third, fourth. It may have reduced the amount of them, but believe me, it didn't rid us of our uncomfort.

So, with the cockroach problem, plus the noisy neighbors fighting and yelling petty much 3-5 times a week, plus the office girls just really not giving a damn about we have to say or that we are living with a huge cockroach infestation in this complex...we tried to talk to them about working out some sort of way to get out of our six month lease.

They were not willing to work with us whatsoever, and I am sure there are plenty of other tenants dealing with the same unhealthy mold and cockroach problems. We have already decided that we have enough pictures and evidence to back us up. But I also know that a group would stand better in court. We just want out of our lease and nothing more. What they are doing is unacceptable and if anyone else is willing to fight this...PLEASE let me know.

I ended up breaking my lease last year and I owe a ton of money to the complex because I broke the lease. I just like everyone else had major cockroach issues and mold. I even had Placer county health inspector come into my apartment and do testing on the mold. If anyone could give me information on how to get out of having to pay for the broken lease, I would appreciate it.

I'm with you! Me and my boyfriend broke our lease at the end of April because we couldn't stand it anymore! THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO US! We were so clean and everything! Same noisy neighbors too! Please email me. Maybe we can get more people to do a class action lawsuit or something? We 'owe' them about $4,500...when THEY should be owing us that money for how they are! Those apartments need to be shut down!!!! a_petermeyer@yahoo.com

My wife and I lived here and the samething has happened to us. We were there for a couple of months like you and we did not have to go to court. We ended up getting our deposit back. If you have any questions or problems please email me and I get give you all the info and websites to document issues that we went through to get out of your lease without any penalties. My email is rjimenez93@comcast.net

Yeah, they're slum lording this apartment. They told us that we would'nt have to pay for the rest of our rent if we found someone to sublet...but my boyfriend and I both agreed that we are not willing to rent this place that we HATE to someone else and put the burden on them...so we decided that we would take action because I KNOW there are plenty of people who have been done wrong by this place as well. I truly believe if a group takes this to court we have a case. Does anyone else have evidence of the living situation?

I think you all have way too much time on your hands. It's a decent place for the rent; stop trying to blame your situation on someone else.

I lived there too. Me and my younger brother moved in, and Robin showed us an apartment that she said would be ours. we signed the papers, got our keys, and walked to our new, FIRST, apartment. It wasnt the one she showed. after moving in, the cockroaches came. They were EVERYWHERE. I complained about noise and the cockroaches and she said she'd do something about the noise and spray. My apartment was sprayed 3 TIMES!! It never made a dent! And the noise never stopped. My dryer never worked, it took 2-3 hours to dry a load of laundry. Of course, it jacked up my energy bill. I complained, and it was "taken care of", even though it wasnt. The cockroaches were in my WHOLE house, kitchen, both bathrooms, both bedrooms, the stair way. It was unbelievable. How do you expect someone to have guests over?! Then there was this crazy tweeker lady 3 doors down that got in a fight with a 15 and a 17 yr old girl, and when me and some friends broke it up, the woman told the police I pulled her out of her car by her hair and kicked her car in. BUT, then she told the apartment a different story. So they evicted me. Wrongfully. I did nothing but help some girls, and got evicted for it. I was served a 3 day notice and figured I was in the right, so I didnt move. I didnt have the money nor the resources. So they took me to court. Now they say that they havent been able to rent it so I owe some $4,500 some odd dollars. Would anyone be willing to get together and fight their charges and make this apartment complex pay for what they continue to make their tenants go through?
